One of the only places we found with vegan options in the area… which would be great if they actually had anything listed on the menu. Of the 5 vegan dishes, three were not available when we went, including both entrees. With very limited other options we filled up on “rabbit food” from the starter menu and a veganified French onion soup. Everything we ate was delicious, but we left unsatisfied. We were told that only one chef knows how to cook vegan entrees, so be aware and hopefully you go when they’re working.

We had dinner at the Newcastle Public House and enjoyed it tremendously. I had fish and chips, which were the best I've ever had (even in England) and my husband had a delicious shrimp and grits dish. We had a lovely table by the window, overlooking the main street. The waitress was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

The front of the house staff are so professional! Emma , Maddy and Charity were very accommodating! We decided to try the new place on the hill only to find that our reservation had been shortened from 7 people to 4 people and time changed to accommodate other patrons . So the rest of our party stayed and received less than satisfactory service , they sat for 50 mins with no drink . We are very pleased in our decision to venture down the hill and take our chances at publick house knowing far in advance that it was a long shot to even get a table on such short notice! However, they got us in seated , served and had delicious meals all before our other party members got a glass of water on the hill ! Keep killing it publick house , you are a well oiled machine !

Was in town for pumpkinfest and lucked into bar seats during peak time. Great food and terrific service, Emma was killing it despite being bombarded with orders.

Loved the food and the beer! Great service! But... The bathroom has sign that it has an uneven floor, so when you walk in you are looking down and then, bam! The low ceiling takes you out from the top. You win this round bathroom.
We were at the pumpkin festival and decided to give them a try so glad very unique and delicious! We ordered the general tos chicken a burger and the fish rhubarb! Spot on so good?

My wife and I love the Newcastle Publick House. The people are great and last weekend our son and his wife joined us at NPH to celebrate his birthday. The folks at Newcastle did an awesome job. We had a wonderful evening. Also, our son and daughter in law said they had a fantastic time. Thank you to the great people at NPH for a wonderful evening.

Steak that was supposed to be rare was well overcooked and more of a medium-well; and had cooled to room temperature by the time it arrived at the table. Swordfish also overcooked. Waitress was inattentive, never asked how the food was, rarely came by. Possible they were understaffed, but she could have still stopped by once in a while and asked how the food was. This place is too $$$ to have overcooked food and poor service.
