Stone's has had to reinvent itself due to covid-19. I was a loyal, if occasional, customer. Seeing that the place was open again, my husband and I decided to have breakfast there the other day. Around 10 a.m. we walked in, quickly noting the lack of inside tables. Order inside, outside seating only, we were told. So we ordered, paid, sat at one of the picnic tables and waited. A young employee walked up to us with a bag of food. We were expecting a meal to be served. Instead we found our eggs plopped into carryout cartons. Can you imagine eating eggs over easy out of a clamshell container -- its top hovering -- with cheap, undersized and flimsy plastic utensils? And at dine-in prices! Plus they forgot my husband's bacon. My sausage glistened with grease. My English muffin, advertised as grilled, was not grilled. The cook must've been in a hurry. None of this was fatal. Even the lack of home fries, no longer available, was okay, if disappointing. A mediocre "carryout" breakfast while charging us dining-in prices is the problem. How were we supposed to know in advance that no plates would be provided. Apparently this was all our fault because we should have known. My husband left a tip and for what. While the inside of the place seems to have been nicely revamped, little thought seems to have been given to customer service or the comfort of those dining outside. Attractively plated eggs, decent cutlery, friendly service, and the overall enjoyment that goes with going out to breakfast was absent. The unappetizing and overly expensive breakfast cost us $32.88, including $1.68 dining tax and $5.58 tip. You'll probably have better luck knowing it's strictly carryout and that's fine if you're having a sandwich. We won't be going back anytime soon.

Stones Cafe is a favorite of locals and those "from away," alike, and on a beautiful early summer day in North Yarmouth, we decided it was time to partake. The Cafe continues to ask patrons to abide by CDC guidelines, masking while indoors for the safety of all. Seating is limited to a set of outdoor tables with umbrellas and, on a lovely day, makes for a pleasant afternoon. My wife's Rachel sandwich was plentiful, served on swirled rye bread, whereas my California BLT was decked out with three strips of bacon along with a plentiful portion of avocado. Both sandwiches were satisfying but what was really enjoyable were the sides of fresh-pickled cucumber, onion, and red pepper. Sandwiches are accompanied by kettle cooked crisps, completing each lunch box. As with many other eating establishments during and after the pandemic, prices are a bit high for being outside of Portland. Nevertheless, a truly enjoyable cafe.

The brunch here is excellent. We both got eggs benedict (an Irish Benedict and a garden Benedict). The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was light and not too firm. I highly recommend substituting the English muffin for a biscuit because it was delicious. The potatoes on the side were seasoned perfectly with an interesting spice mix. Will definitely be back to try their pastries.

Stones is a local treasure! The new interior is awesome. Never fear if you need something quick for dinner - you will find it here. Including a delicious dessert.

KEEP DRIVING! Had a craving for an Irish Benedict from this old haunt in North Yarmouth. We were disappointed on so many levels - the food was mediocre at best - small portion of hard corned beef hash, "homemade" english muffin that was no different from the ones at the grocery store, boring potatoes, and at over $19 way too costly for the amount & quality. The "cinnamon roll" we got ($4) was just a huge puffy bread with sugar on top and just one meager swirl with barely any cinnamon at all - we threw it out! I wondered why they were cheering when I bought the last one. And the customer service... Unless you're starving in North Yarmouth and don't mind paying through the nose for some average food, I'd drive another 20 minutes to the Miss Portland Diner or Becky's Diner in Portland - better food for less money where they actually value their customers.

I stopped by last Saturday February 6, 2021. Location - EASY with Parking! I have been driving by or near this location for several years, even after seeing neighbors and friends frequent this cafe. Finally I remembered it as an option and broke my routine of my typical go-to places and placed an order online (easy ordering process). Keep in mind when they are open - there are many more options to order from the freshly made to order menu items. Don't forget to check out the specials. Options - There were so many items to choose from, fresh made to order breakfast and lunch items and many options for frozen/take and bake dinners, snacks and desserts. The reason why I chose to go here is I could purchase a box of "Thank you" pastries for a neighbor and also grab delicious breakfast for my husband and I. The baked goods aren't all listed on the website, so you'll need to look and order when you arrive. I have uploaded pictures of ALLLL the different foods we have tried from the ONE visit - LOL. It was a lot and I couldn't decide on one thing. Social Media - I have been following them on social media and have always been impressed by what I saw - give them a follow on FB or IG or Both! Staff - They could see I was excited to be there, and try new things. They were patient and so helpful in explaining the process and other items they had for sale, like the vegan berry muffin - YUM! They seemed genuinely appreciative for the business and my enthusiasm. Yes, even though I placed a hefty food order online...I bought just as much stuff when i saw what they had in the bakery case. In these strange pandemic times, I have been motivated to help keep local restaurants and shops going through orders and purchases and this place definitely got my attention. Will you give it yours? I would recommend you try it if you haven't. Super nice people and amazing food! I can't wait to go back!

Stones Cafe has been so consistent in quality and customer service despite this impossible year. They continue to pivot in smart ways, and I’ve been so happy to see their creativity, and their goods continue to be some of the best in southern Maine.Their English muffins are the best (by a long shot) that I’ve ever had. We pick up a fresh bag every couple weeks. This place is an amazing go-to for breakfast or lunch (even to-go is so well presented and executed), baked goods, or even gifts.I wish all the best for this place. Keep supporting local!

We love their frozen selection! A lot of our friends are welcoming new babies and during a pandemic and dropping off frozen meals and treats from Stones makes us feel like we can help from a distance! And our oldest loves coming to get herself a treat! Thank goodness for the chicken pot pie and frozen cinnamon rolls!
