Birdies Grill & Tavern

We felt very wierd. The hostess told us it would be a while but we were told not to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited. Then she never came to get us. We ordered at the bar. My sandwich was good but didn't like the chips. My husband's chicken sandwich was small and not enough for him. Looked like a nice place but lots of profanity being used at the bar.

Just returned from our first time in Old Orchard Beach and Birdie's was BY FAR our best meal there. This is REAL home cookin'. Homemade iced tea, mashed potatoes that taste like your momma made 'em and a lovely and attentive server named Jody(?) that made us feel very taken care of. No frills or ocean views, but I'm shocked that this place doesn't have better reviews. I regret not having every meal there.

The reason why I gave a 2 star is because I stopped in there last night for a drink and appetizers and I was greeted by Dennis the bartender he was absolutely amazing,then we went on to order food and the server's need more training I was appalled very ignorant servers dressed liked I couldn't believe I would say you dress appropriately.Every restaurant you give aleast a shirt I just couldn't believe my eyes .I work in the restaurant business and we have a dress code we abide by.I just couldn't believe that.Dennis was the best of the best talked with us laughed and he was the only one that gave us the best service,when our food came out the server just slid it on the bar and walked away disgrace,I will definitely not be returning there at all.Be aware stay away.

Very bad ????
They gave me the wrong fries i just wanted my tendies and thry gave me sweet potato fries and when i wanted my regular ones they charged me for both. And the lowkey forgot the chicken on my nachos when i asked for ot they handwd me a slab of grilled chicken and made me cut it up and dump it on top of my now cold nachos. The food took around an hour and it took 20 for drinks. And also when we asked for 4 boxes it took 13:32 minutes and we only got 3 boxes. Oh the chicken might have been raw ngl.

Me and my 2 sons where visting and stop in there to have dinner. Not inpressed to say the least. We ordered 1. Haddock diner 2. Chicken sandwitch 3. Haddock and shirmp dinner and got
Haddock sandwhich instead and yes they did correct it my son said that it had a very strong vinagar taste to it so he could eat it and well i dont blame him !!
Got the haddock and shirmp dinner was correct the first time .well the haddock dinner not some much the fries came out way before the haddock did and by the time the haddock came out about 30 minutes or so later the fries where gone and everyone was done eatting while still waiting for the fried haddock dinner that came out broiled imstead!! The waitress was polite. But not sure i would go there again. Very disappointed The total bill was $70 plus

Great toss salad with all the veggies.
Pizza is fabulous. Crispy and homemade crust. Great service. Will definitely make this our go to place to eat.

I’ve been coming to Maine on vacation everyday for multiples times a year and we always go to what was “Duffys” now “Birdies”

After recently visiting what is now “Birdies” for the first time this summer and was VERY dissatisfied. Not only are the prices outrageous they don’t match the quality or mass to the price presented.

I ordered Mac and cheese triangles for $12
(It came with 5 store frozen sized triangles)
I ordered Pub Pretzels for $14 (It came with 3 4 inch pretzels)

I ordered for my main course a steak and cheese for $18! Plus fries don’t come with your meal. You have to pay $4 extra if you want a side. My steak and cheese came on a grilled hotdog bun with not a sub or roll and hot dog bun the size of my hand. Not only was it 75% cheese, it was pretty good but cost wise to amount x quality is not there at all.

It sucks to see this happen to a restaurant we all loved so much. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again.

We came to maine for alittle get away. We went Saturday nite and Sunday afternoon. Both meals were great. We did not have to wait long to be seated or waited on. Staff was very friendly and thet worked well together. Can't wait to go back.

I would encourage you to find an establishment that is not a tourist trap - solely out for profit and the highest margins. Frozen food. Cheap Sim. Tourist vibes. Hard pass.

I actually work at birdies. Many improvements have been made. Exciting changes are coming.we have a new menu and many upgrades coming to our event menu.

Parking: Plenty of free parking

Kid-friendliness: Very many choices for kids.pizza, chicken tenders etc...

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access

Decent and clean, the presentation of the facility left high hopes for a great stay, but the one server we had for our event left us wondering what we were doing there. Maybe she did the best she could, but I would imagine that the management knew we had reserved the event room, so one might conclude that they knew we would need more than one server. I would have preferred to have been at the bar area, watching those TVs and joking with the bartender. I'll have to go back and try some food... it LOOKED good, but I didn't get more than a single bacon wrapped scallop in a two hour stay... which was good, but I left to go eat, when I'd have rather eaten there. I look forward to giving them another try, when I'm there on my own terms. For now, 4 stars seems like a good placeholder.
