Our favorite restaurant in OOB. Have always had an excellent time there. The food and service is always wonderful. Husband usually has the Korean BBQ tips but this time tried the pistachio crusted haddock and scallops and was very pleased. Always have coffee with our desserts. The coffee is the best.

We were in OOB for a few days and had no clue where to eat. We went to Joseph's for dinner. In fact we had such great cocktails and meals, we went back the 2nd evening.
I had Habanero Margarita- perfect!
Jackie had Pumpkin Pie Martini- perfect.
Wedge Salads were perfect, had both nights.
Delicious Fish and Chips.
Jackie loved her cooked perfect medium Filet Mignon.
The staff was fun and excellent.
Great views. Fantastic tables.
We will be back whenever in OOB.
Thank you, Joe and Jackie.

Went for Sunday brunch. Over an hour for French toast and eggs Benedict. Egg was hard boiled and both dishes were cold. We sat forgotten and no one seemed to care our food was awful and the wait was very long. The only excuse we were given was too many large parties ordering. No reason why our food had to come cold and poorly prepared. Do not recommend and if you are disappointed they really won’t care.

Walking in you're surrounded by beautiful decor, and comfortable seating while you wait for a table. We made reservations since it was a Friday night, which is probably recommended for weekends. It looked as though the wait was rather long otherwise. The seating area was comfortable, and lighting was dim, which made it cozy. The drinks we ordered, a sangria, and another drink. None of which were skimpy on the alcohol. We had the truffle fries and bread service to start. The truffle fries weren't great and I myself really didn't like them. The bread however was AMAZING! I ordered filet mignon, my husband ordered baked scallops and haddock, and my friend ordered the stuffed lobster. The stuffed lobster had a lot of breading, but otherwise she said it was really good. My husband's baked scallops and haddock was incredible. I wasn't super happy with my filet mignon. It was a little dry, however the mashed potatoes and gorgonzola glaze was very good. I liked the place over all. The service was great, and it would be a really nice place to go for a special occasion.

Visited on Oct.2nd 2024 at 6:30. I made the reservation online but was told i didn’t have a reservation but i had the confirmation email to show that i did and we were seated. Food was below average, hostess was nice. The bar tender was nice as well. But our waitress Michelle was awful. Just unpleasant and made the whole experience terrible. She was not personable at all and was extremely rude the whole night. The inside of the restaurant was nice and everyone beside Michelle that i spoke to was great. I don’t know how ,with her bad attitude, that she is employed in the anywhere in the field of hospitality.

Wow, what a beautiful evening we spent at Joseph’s by the sea. We were on the heated and quite warm terrace with a splendid view.
The calamari, pasta and halibut with the pistachio crisp were sublime.
Impeccable, almost perfect service from start to finish.
Bravo for this beautiful evening.

Firstly, The worst and most notable part was the terrible interior chairs. They are quite possibly the most uncomfortable chairs ever created by humanity. My back still hurts and its been days later. I would've been better off on a barstool. The chair had ONE small bar for support and it dug into my back by the way it was shaped. The seat was angled back and sunk me against this chair from hell with it's terrible back support. Whoever bought those chairs should be instantly fired. The outside chairs seemed much better had decent back support.
Food was very tasty and good for what you expect a high end place by the sea. View is incredible and the set up they have is nice and great atmosphere. I've been here 2 times now and probably would go again.. ONLY if the weather is nice and i can sit outside WHERE THEY HAVE DECENT CHAIRS!.

Hubby and I went for our anniversary, and it started wonderfully with a great wait staffer, wonderful drinks and apps, calamari we shared. Hubby’s dinner was the sure and turf while I had the pasta Maison, Hubby’s amazing mine wah, wah, wah,. My dinner was cold or shall i say barely room temp pasta, while the seafood, tepid at best. I did mention it to our amazing waitress who asked if I wanted a redo which I did decline as hubby was already eating so I ate the fish. My only thought is it was prepped too early and sat for a bit under a warmer maybe or the fish was prepped without adding the cold pasta to the pan to reheat and combine all the flavors.? We shall try it again but this was a 5/10 for us.
It was a great day to sit out enjoying the ocean and beach having a nice cocktail on a beautiful Sunday in Maine a must stop when you are in old orchard beach

I selected this restaurant to meet friends we hadn't seen in a while based solely on online reviews and we were blown away with our experience! We made reservations for rooftop dining and enjoyed some cocktails downstairs until our table was ready. We were seated just as it was getting dark and had incredible views of the ocean and the moon and stars as the night went on.
We shared a basket of bread and had a few more drinks (the Manhattan is great!) while we waited for our meal. I had the Filet and Lobster with mashed potatoes, carrots and asparagus. My steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster was amazing. The vegetables were tender, cooked just right and I'm not sure what made the potatoes so good but they were on point for sure. We all had either cheesecake or key lime pie for dessert and those were very good also.
If you are in OOB and want to have a nice dinner, go to Joseph's. If the weather is good, eat on the roof!

Joseph's by the Sea, the discovery of a magical restaurant!
Here is the summary of our evening!
First of all, it is recommended to book before going there. Reservations are easily made on Google and in French if you have the French version of the application.
When we arrive at the restaurant there is free parking. The only downside to parking is that it is narrow. If the parking lot in front of the restaurant is full, you can go across the street.
The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is just perfect. Chic, sober and a view of the sea.
We chose the “covered patio” section and the place was perfect even for a cooler September evening. There is a patio heater above each table. The view of the sea is super beautiful.
The service is worthy of a good restaurant and fast. The menu is diverse, steak, pasta, burger, chicken, children's menu and fish and seafood.
Our dishes were well presented and the taste lived up to our expectations. We ordered: a plate of bread, calamari, beach burger and lobster stir-fry with dessert. All the dishes ordered were excellent.
The price of the restaurant is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. A restaurant of this quality is actually not free even in Quebec. (bread, squid, burger, lobster stir-fry, bottle of wine and dessert $154 USD) We are far from the traditional fast food offerings on Maine!
A restaurant to try! And our waitress who thanks us and wishes us a good evening in French!
Dietary restrictions: Several gluten-free options
Parking: Tight parking
Kid-friendliness: There is a children's menu
