Exceptional people, extraordinary food, lovely ambiance...not enough can be said about what a special restaurant Kanu is.
To start I ordered the chicken sandwich without the bun. Chicken was fried to the point the crust was burnt... Fries were overcooked... not sure why.. everyone else in our area(rooftop) was brought a carafe with water.. we were not.. we were given a glass of water ... never was refreshed... would hate to think it was because of our color... but didn't feel comfortable.. would not return .
I tried a drink off their specialty menu, it ended up being something I just could not get my tastebuds around. They were super nice and took it off my bill, and I explained it's not them it's me haha. They made sure to check in with us about everything else after that, but truly that was the only hiccup.
Outstanding brunch! The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We were a party of 9 and everyone loved their meal. The service was excellent. The relaxed atmosphere and chic decor added to the experience.
We have eaten at Kanu many times and I think the food was the best ever today. My husband and I kept remarking how everything was hot and perfectly seasoned with so much flavor. We decided we will return once a week!
Mother's Day brunch was a disappointment. Food was cold and buffet hadn't been refilled the entire time we were there. We waited for refills and then gave up. Not worth the price we paid for each person.
I had high hopes based on previous reviews. Maybe Mother's Day and brunch buffet isn't their thing. The food was ok, but not kept at the right temperature, was hard to serve yourself (closed lids and wrong utensils), and we rarely interacted with our wait staff. We had a reservation but still waited almost an hour to be seated. I might try for drinks and appetizers but not a meal based on this experience.
It was very busy but still good. The food was very good. The red sparkling wine excellent. As always good place to go.
First off, Kanu is one of the coolest decorated restaurants I've ever seen with crushed blue velvet couches and gorgeous carved wood panels and decorative walls. Great, flattering lighting. I love a restaurant that cares so much about the ambiance. Don't let the discreet, hard to find front door put you off. Major kudos to the interior decorators. Would be a great date spot. I came with family and had a terrific lunch fancy, hearty burgers, serious tallow fries and fantastic breakfast burrito that my husband got in a bowl rather than a tortilla. Creative and delicious brunch menu. Server was great. Would go back in a heartbeat.
This was our first time at Kanu and we will be back! The drinks were generous and while the Prosecco was a bit stale, my friend was immediately brought a another fresh one. We had the Blush Salad and Forager Pizza, both were excellent, in fact the pizza may be the best I have ever had (and I have had a few pizzas)- several types of mushrooms, one sweet, meaty, and juicy, and there was just a touch of lemon. It was quiet while we were there, but it was early and we were gone by 6:30.

For the price of my steak, it was very tough. I had to spit out a lot of pieces because it cannot be chewed so disappointed was very excited to go and then pay $50 for a steak and can't eat it.
The description listed eggs benedict and ham but there was none. We had to scoot around people that were eating to get our food at the buffet, there wasn't enough room to move around comfortably. I felt like I was constantly in wait staff's way. The coffee espresso cocktails were awful. I've been to kanu many times and this missed the mark for me. It was more like a hotel continental breakfast, unfortunately.
The atmosphere was perfect for Easter brunch. The drinks were the most impressive part of the experience. The food was fair. For the price I would've expected a carving station ( with more than just ham) and possibly an omelet station. The pastries were not fresh ( resembling a grocery store pastry.)
Easter brunch is amazing and a must! We had such a great time and everything we ate was perfect.
We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends. The only issue was that the door to our igloo kept opening but overall we really enjoyed our time. The food and service was very nice ✌🏼💚
