Loved everything about this place! It’s intimate, charming, and relaxed. The staff is wonderful— friendly, helpful, and deservedly proud of everything they serve. The oysters are sublime! The chowder is the best I’ve had in many years. Can’t wait to go back!

We took the Oyster farm tour and shucking class out of the basecamp location. It was a rainy and gloomy day but the highlight of our trip. John was great and all the employees were wonderful. They provided us with some heavy raincoats. We highly recommend and love that we can now shuck our own oysters.

A real hidden gem of coastal Maine, the Basecamp location here used to be an old general store perched on a rocky outcrop. The building had fallen into disrepair for several years but was purchased by the Maine Oyster Company's owners. The new owners are on a mission to restore the building both physically and as an important part of the local community. Stop by for the amazing views and freshest oysters you can get without scooping them out of the sea yourself.

Visited the Basecamp of Maine Oyster Company and had an authentic experience! Farm tour, shucking class, and much more. Beautiful place to spend the day and watch a sunset or sunrise from the upper deck. Will definitely be back to this beautiful part of Maine.

This is what the slogan on the sign means when it says “Maine: the way life should be.” The houses are far enough away to feel like a vacation and close enough to town that groceries are easy enough to grab. The panoramic landscape is tranquil while the salt air is refreshing. This is a great spot to be any season. The houses are well kept and maintained. Interior was comfortable and well furnished. Plenty of space to relax. Lots of things to do: kayaking is a great way to experience the ocean, and there are some local trails nearby with more scenic views. Helpful friendly people running the houses. Worth coming back to every year!!! If you aren’t from Maine bring a sweatshirt the ocean breeze can get chilly at night, but the stars can be seen brighter out away from city lights and it’s worth trying to stargaze on a clear night!

We started our stay in the seaside cottage. The view is breath taking. We enjoyed sipping our coffee on the balcony and watching the boats go out. After a few days there we moved to a larger house (sand dollar). The house is beautiful and well cared for. We have greatly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone. The owner and property manager are very nice, helpful people.

The view is amazing. It is a comfortable cottage. There is a private town beach. I want to live here.
