A manager needs to speak to all their employees about handling cash with gloves and then food. I watched a whole pan of cookies be prepped with the same gloves uses to handle money and then he made my entire order with the same gloves touching them all over my food

Amato's always is amazing. As a suggestion you guys definitely can and should make a North Shore style Super Beef. It's become famous around these parts. Maine would love it.

Im adding this to the begining so it is seen. After this review the owner did reach out to me and assured me that the staff would be advised at how important the quality is for the patrons and the franchise. He reimbursed me well and asked for another chance to make the food i have loved for so long. Since then i have had no issues with the food and will give them the chance to continue the service and quality i expect. Updates will follow. Unfortunately over the 38 years I have been a patron of Amatos the quality of their food and service has dwindled to the point that I will no longer be ordering anything from their franchise. Attached is a photo of my "Fresh" veggie Italian. DISPICABLE!! The tomato's are mush the bread soggy and the seeds from the pepper are littered throughout my sandwich.

I'm not sure what the issue with this particular location is. They have only made my order the right way once out at least 3 times this summer. My order? A veggie wrap. Tried to get extra lettuce 1 time which didn't happen and they forgot pickles. Today NO lettuce. I've never complained but this specific wrap has been my go to since I stopped smoking a few months ago! It's my crutch ? NO problems from the other 3 locations

I'm updating this as I've been to Amatos manyl times since I posted the first review. I've upped the stars to 3 from 4 because I've had several things that I hadn't had there before and they were all very enjoyable. One thing I definitely appreciate is that with very little exception, the food is consistant from one Amatos to the next. It's nice to know that when I'm on the road and it's too late to make something for supper, I can find an Amatos and get something and know that, if it's not where I usually get it, it will be just as good as where I bought it the first time. Thank you, Amatos.It's fast Italian food on the fly. It's definitely a step (or even two) over McD's, BK's, Wendys, etc. Italians plus other hot & cold sandwhiches, salads plus a nice selection of Italian dinners makes it a good choice for singles or familes or any group in-between.
