Really creamy (and I mean you can taste the cream) ice cream. Both flavors that we tried were excellent (banana cream pie and a caramel one).

Very busy on a Friday night! The staff was friendly and efficient! And the ice cream was delicious! There is seating inside and a few picnic tables outside.

Overall, disappointing experience - no chocolate soft serve ice cream and no chocolate sprinkles. Okay, sometimes that happens. We order chocolate raspberry and it was just chocolate, no raspberry. The staff was dismissive and all in all lackluster customer service.

Super sweet friendly staff. Awesome vibe. My daughter went in for just a water. I ended up getting the coconut ice cream in a cone. It was sooooooo yummy!!

We did comparison tasting of ice cream, sorbet, and gelato in Portland. I like having a scoop of a sweet and a scoop of a tart for a nice variety. Beals came in last in our survey, with sorbet getting a better rating than the ice cream. We had chocolate as the sweet, and whatever sour various shops had. Beal's option was lemon. Other notes: they have three outside tables which is a nice option.

There are four gelato/ice cream spots within a couple of blocks in Old Port. Gorgeous Gelato is across the street from Gelato Fiasco, Beals Ice Cream is around the corner. We went all three.
Had the house chocolate at Gelato Fiasco, delicious. Had the dark chocolate at Gorgeous Gelato also delicious, had chocolate ice cream and lemon sorbet at Beals. Both gelatos are great but I give a slight edge to Gorgeous. Beals chocolate ice cream is OK but doesn't rank with the gelatos. Beals lemon sorbet was much better than the ice cream, delicious and refreshing..when going to Beals choose sorbet.

Toasted marshmallow and grapenut were my scoops. Delicious, creamy ice cream. The workers behind the counter were great. Highly recommend to cool you down and fill you up!

Blueberry cobbler is my favorite!

Beal’s is pretty tasty! Good and fun selection of flavors to choose from. Homemade waffle cones, banana splits, shakes and even diary free options. Friendly and fast staff. Suggest the Rockin Raspberry!!

Wow!! Delicious creamy ice cream. Coffee Heath Bar was amazing! Mint chocolate chip was so good. Huge portion sizes!! Friendly, fast customer service. Thank you!!!
