“pop up with Meet on the Street last night. Prix Fixe four course menu 😋. Food was outstanding, service…outstanding. Drinks?? Always outstanding! The gondola in the bar is always a fun little spot to sit. Such a great space on Wharf St, especially when the snow is falling. Food is warm and lovely, and the staff is always happy to see you. 100/10.“

“SHUCH A HIDDEN GEM! Oh my gosh, this is our absolute favorite place. We were visiting from Connecticut and they had over 100 different beers and wine that you could take to go or drink there and they had an extensive draft list.

The bartender was so sweet and friendly. He let you try anything on the travel list and would give you recommendations. It was so clever all the draft beers it would tell you how many miles from that exact bar this beer was brewed at so you kind of got a sense of the Portland and Maine areas.

The location itself was very small and cozy with high top tables and a lounge area with couch and plus chair seating was super cozy on a winter day.

They also had food and as a really funny item, they actually had a free egg station with many different toppings, and you could literally eat hard boiled eggs, which our group absolutely loved.

“Fantastic menu! I felt like I just walked into a glamorous pub in England when I saw the menu choices. The cocktail list is loaded with great drinks AND there are two happy hours daily! I had a delicious toasted cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato —so huge I could barely finish half. It came with a heap of perfectly fried hand cut potatoes. My sister got a lovely bowl of French onion soup to start and the steak frites as a main course. There was a big sliced steak done to perfection! We will return regularly! *****“

“Great dive/ cocktail bar off the beaten path. Was recommended from a couple we’d met. And passing along the recommendation. Delicious espresso martini. One of the most amazing pretzels we’d ever had. And the Kraut dog, wow!!! Great place to stop by while on Portland“

“What can you say?? It's New England's first craft brewery, opened a few months before that MA patriot one. :D They keep it simple with a quaint tasting room, plenty of seating outside in great weather, very comfortable and still fantastic brews!! Definitely recommend!“

“We wandered in today and sat at the bar. We were so impressed with both the service and the food. The bartender was cordial, friendly, and extremely attentive. We had a flatbread that was absolutely delicious and chicken, bacon ranch salad with house made ranch that was exceptional. Closer than any. We don’t have a flatbread company near our home sure wish we did.“

We get a cigar, a beer or two, and usually burgers or some similar food.\nWhile the menu is not extensive, portions and prices are fair and the food is surprisingly good. I never come away from here hungry. \nI have been going here since I moved to maine in 1995 and now that I live 50 miles away in NH, after nearly 30 years i still enjoy coming to this place. Ali, the owner, is there every day, and is a fascinating guy to chat with. \nThe beauty of Calabash, is that it is not PC, this is a place that has managed to survive despite asinine regulations and restrictions on adult behavior; there is, to me, something civilized about having a cigar with a good meal.
