Good experience at Brickyard Hollow during our Maine visit! 🍺

While exploring the area on Labor Day, my friends and I split up - they went for chicken and lobster while I set out on a 15-minute walk to find a Mexican restaurant I'd spotted on Google. Turns out it was closed for the holiday (someone forgot to update their hours!), but thankfully I discovered Brickyard Hollow Brewing Company just a block away with their doors open.

I practically burst through the door, absolutely starving, and was immediately greeted by Zima - what a genuinely welcoming person! As a vegetarian at a brewing company, I was a bit worried about food options. When I mentioned I was craving something like Chipotle, Zima went above and beyond. He not only recommended their rice bowl but personally arranged to have the meat swapped out for Beyond Meat. This kind of thoughtful accommodation made all the difference! 👨‍🍳. What impressed me most was watching Zima work throughout my meal. He was essentially running the entire place - adjusting chairs, cleaning tables, greeting new guests, and checking in with everyone to ensure they had everything they needed. His attention to detail and genuine care for each customer's experience was remarkable.

The food itself was good (I was so hungry I cleaned my plate!), but it was Zima's exceptional service that transformed what could have been a disappointing afternoon into a truly memorable dining experience. 🙌

Special shoutout to Zima 💪for not letting a hungry vegetarian go without options and for treating every guest like they mattered. This is the kind of personal touch that makes local establishments shine!

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place! Will is one of the legendary bartenders in Portland. Always treats us like gold, gives the best recommendations it just has the best overall attitude. He’s great! The beer is good. The drinks are good. The pizza is even better and always get the pretzel sticks!! Ignore the bitter reviews on here, this place rocks!

I was blown away by the disrespect from the bartender, very rude red-headed dude with glasses gave us absent service and threw the check at us when we were done. Embarrassing behavior from a grown man and even more embarrassing for the management.

The beers POUR FROM THE BOTTOM UP AROUND THIS PLACE. DONT miss out on a good pour, great food, and the best staff. BELLY up to the bar at the brick yard!

Located in busy downtown Portland right on Commercial Street.

Opened late until 10pm/11pm daily.

Large area with lots of tables and some bar seating. Lots of screens in that main area. There is a large seated/tabled area with a large screen (a few large screens combined) in that room.

There was a great selection of beers to choose from.

There were are also a bunch of food options including lots of pizzas! Some interesting toppings/combinations.

We got the meat pizza, gluten-free pesto pizza and chicken fingers with french fries and all were good.

Kudos to the staff there as all were very good, including our server who was excellent. She checked in on us regularly and was very accommodating.

He shames people publicly for lower tips!!!

A cool place for an interesting local beer, a Great Old Fashioned but mostly for an energetic and entertaining bar staff. Great atmosphere in the place, an older fun and historic place worth a quick stop for a beer and conversation.

Our server ignored us when we arrived, then went back to work behind the bar, came back, took our order, left again flirted with some guy behind the bar, started mixing drinks for people at the bar, and after 15 minutes of being ignored further with our beers nowhere in sight we got up and left.
