HARD NO!! Extremely loud, very little seating, and very limited menu. If loud drunken and stoned is your vibe, this is the place for you.
Great place to relax, chat, get a few drinks and enjoy a good meal. Great service too!! Servers are genuine!
We went out on a Tuesday night, happy to see that there was a place serving food until 12am. We were sat right away, the server came over and we ordered our drinks and food together. He forgot about my drink and I had to ask for it when our food was brought out :/ 3 star review only because they gave me my drink for free, since I waited so long for it.
The kitchen was in view from where we sat. Employee drinks were right next to the waters they were serving to tables. The bartender walked into the kitchen, ate food in view of guests, didn’t wash his hands, and walked back out into the dining room while he was still chewing his food…
Our food was ok.. we ordered the poutine with short rib which seemed like it was burnt and old. I understand we came in late, but the quality should never be that bad, like it was as sitting in a hot well for hours. Cauliflower bites were alright.
Overall not the best experience and probably won’t be returning, although I’m sure it’s a fun place to just get drinks.
I loved the atmosphere. It had a very rustic vibe. Looked pretty dark from outside, so I was unsure for a second that it was open. I got the smash burger, and it was ok. It just didn't hit home for me while taking the first few bites. The fries were delicious, though!
What an absolute delight. Stayed around the corner from this joint and can’t believe I only tried it on my last day. Get the steak and tenderloin sandwich. A tasty, if a bit messy, delight!!
Lots of flavor. I had salmon with a side of ham. Was very delicious 💯
Go to place for me. The breakfast fried rice and Burgers are the best.

As I gazed through the foggy windows of a bustling restaurant, stomach aching for a bite, the breeze whisked me into the entrance of this establishment. I craved the finest and freshest cuisine in Portland, but my pockets disagreed. I found myself within the confines of CBG. As I entered, I was greeted by a handsome young woman with a mustache and unibrow. Her eyes welcomed my withered and battered appetite. She motioned to the wall- hanging above her, the finest of freshly taxidermied wildlife in the area. Ducks, Coyotes, Dogs, cats, bears- you name it. She directed me to a table in the back room. On the table, a perfectly cooked arm. Hairy, vascular, with hand and Rolex still intact. She pulled the chair out for me and as I sat, she whispered in my ear “enjoy mr President”. I was confused, but pleased. And strangely aroused. Steely Dan was echoing over top of Creed as the restaurant speakers struggled to reverb.
Thank you for your service. One day is not enough for you folks. #blackveterans #yummy-arms. Try the macaroni.

I want so much to give this place a good rating. It used to be a great die bar/comfort food joint. Then it was got it and reinvented as a nouveau dive bar/comfort food joint. Seem like a lot of effort went into creating, but they already had but whatever. And it’s not unusual for a place to play music so loudly it screams “eat and go”. The cocktails and Mock-tails seem quite nice. But the food… what to say about the food? When it’s good, it’s fabulous! There’s just no telling when that will, or will not happen. If you offer, homemade, hand, cut fries and potato chips they should always be awesome, otherwise just toss in a bag of Lays and be done with it. Why replace a great burger with the trendy ‘smashed burger-just an excuse to serve an overcooked burger with less meat and less quality? Truffle aioli shouldn’t be some thing you confuse with mayo. Everything that should be a safe, go to, dinneresque choice can’t be trusted. One day it’s the best in town and totally worth sitting there screaming at your next-door neighbor because the music is so loud, and the next your left wondering if the janitors are filling in for the cooks today.

Warm and welcoming pub atmosphere. Open late, the food rocks, and an excellent selection of beers on tap.

5 stars for serving food late and coming in clutch when those late night cravings hit. The food isn’t outrageous and I think it’s a little pricy but given the hardly anything is open late at night in Portland beggars can be choosers. Bacon grilled cheese with the soup can’t be beat.
Parking: Street parking only.
