Hidden Gem of Portland! If you are looking for a Lobster Roll this is the place to go.
Slightly off the beaten path but absolutely worth it to get there and experience it. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by an extremely friendly and personal young man. He answered all our questions and made the process wonderful! They serve you your drinks/cocktails as soon as you place your oder so that you can find your table and relax while your fresh food is made. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the place was clean and the food and drinks were delicious!

Stopped in after driving by on our way out of Portland. Loved the set up, but not the food. The clams were overdone and very chewy. The lobster roll was warm buttered, with an Asian flair. I'd rather have just a plain cold. The Cole slaw was very good, but was just dropped on top of the hot fries. It should be served separately as it was very difficult to eat. Nice spot, but food was very disappointing.

Clam roll was just OK and clams were overdone. Accompanying sauce and tartar sauce too spicy. Fish & Chips = disappointing. Fish was tender, but lost in a very thick, not great tasting batter - all overcooked. We saw the couple next to us also throwing away most of their fish&chip meal. Service and atmosphere are great. Please reconsider the fish batter and don't over-fry! For the food quality this was overpriced.

If I could give more stars for service I would!! They thought my fish and chips didn’t come with enough fish so they brought me out a whole nother piece!!

Food is amazing you have to add this to your list!

We stopped by to have lunch and would highly recommend this place! The service was friendly and fast. The food was amazing! I had the clam chowder which I loved that they have a different take on it with no cream or milk instead w/a broth that's nice and flavorful. The lobster roll was off the charts! Amazing! Such a great take on a classic with their unique ingredients and crema on top. The flavors were just outstanding and I'm a big connoisseur of lobster rolls. My wife had the fish & chips - she said fish was delicious, but the batter was too much and too heavy. The fries were hot and crispy and I would love to go back to this place....if we only lived closer.

We were jonesing for some fried clams while out and about today and remembered The Clam Shack just down the road from old port. The fried whole belly clams were excellent, perfect portion for 2. Then we saw the steamed whole belly clams Jalisco style, with brisket piled on top. Sold! To top it off my wife had a watermelon mojito which was refreshing and delicious. So glad we stopped.

I absolutely love stopping here for food and drinks. It’s easily overlooked for not being as scenic as other locations but you’d be missing out. Great easy parking, dog friendly, awesome service, really good food and cocktails, and a great ambiance. I love bringing people from out of town here but I also come here as a local just bc I enjoy it.

Parking: There’s a few street parking spots right next to the restaurant and then a bigger gravel lot very close by with lots of additional parking

It will bey go to place when I am in Portland. Parking is easy, the food is awesome and the service was friendly and attentive. I used to live in Portland and the city has changed. The Calm Bar was what I remember the best of what Portland can be. Check it out.
