Best thin crust pizza in town, hands down. Staff was attentive and fun. Attomaphere and tunes made me feel very comfortable. Home run!

So salty. I appreciate using salt to bring out flavors, but this pizza I could taste nothing but salt.

Definitely the best grilled pizzas i’ve ever had (wings too). I dined there a few months ago and I still think about those pizzas to this day.

It is off the beaten Portland path. Hidden Gem. If you are a fan of thin crust pizza, this is your place!

This is a hidden gem in Portland. If you like thin crust pizza this place is the best. It is unique, not like anything else in the city, but that is the point. It is excellent. You may not like the style of crust, but the ingredients are all top notch. The staff all seem personally invested in the success of the restaurant, which is great. The atmosphere is incredibly comfortable and laid back. Also, there is parking - a rare thing in downtown Portland. Try the Dean Martin pizza and the dessert Nutella Pizza. You will not be disappointed. My new favorite restaurant in Portland, now that Emalitsa has closed. Yes, I am putting Coals on the same playing field as one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.Parking: There is plenty of free parking in the lot behind the building.

Great location with plenty of parking options! We stopped in for dinner as a party of four & sat right away. Enjoyed some "spring fling" cocktails and craft beer. Great selection of drinks- there is something for everyone! As for the food everything came out efficiently & tasted great! We order some appetizers, a salads and four different pizzas (rustic, heaven scent, Don Ho). They were all deliciously unique! Our server Anne was a pleasure & checked on us regularly, we will surely be back!

Great 'za, beer selection, and the wings... Listen, I'm not just some guy saying this: best wings I have ever had. No need to order Xtra crispy, they got that $h*t down. Both barkeeps I've encountered were uncommonly good at their job as well.Divey vibe, but very clean. Not a date night spot, this is a place for wing and pizza addicts. Come hungry, leave happy.

Coals is so damn cool. Good food, good vibes, all around. Let it be known that before today, if I were given the option between a thin crust or a thick crust pizza I would have said thick all the way. Coals just might have changed my mind.I think it's because these pizzas are grilled to perfection and have some really delicious toppings. We got the Marlon, which has mozz, tomatoes, red peppers, arugula and is topped with a not-too-spicy-just-right spicy oil. My favorite was the "Must Have" which was aptly named. A mix of cheeses, herbs, vinotto drizzle, and ricotta dollops. So flavorful! The pizzas are huge which is amazing, we had leftovers for sure. As an appetizer we had their Buffalo Cauliflower - a little known fact about me is that I've tried most Buffalo Cauliflower in the greater Portland area. This one was a stand out. Deliciously fried but not greasy, with a unique sweet Buffalo sauce. Yum!This place also just gives off really cozy vibes. Kind of feels like whoever decorated raided some local yard sales and made it work stunningly. Staff was super attentive and kind, they had lots to say about the menu, their favorites, and overall seem to love the place. Good vibes all around. It also looks like they do Trivia nights and events when they can! To use double negatives, I simply can't not come here again. It was a stand out.

First time here but it won't be the last. Wings were AMAZING! Our table of 5 ordered ten just to try them and we definitely wished we had gotten more. VERY thin crust pizza but still able to hold the toppings and it was wonderfully crispy. Service was attentive but not pushy. Drinks, like the food, was creative and wonderful. Definitely the best thin crust pizza in the greater Portland area.
