A 30 minute ferry ride from Portland to Diamond Cove. A short walk to the restaurant. Beautiful scenery. Staff and food were great.

When in Portland, a visit to Great Diamond Island is a must during summer season. If you're seeking a restaurant with an excellent view: head to Diamond's Edge and sit outside in the patio. The tomato and watermelon salad $15 is the standout. The jumbo gulf shrimp cocktail (4) pieces $18 is excellent: the shrimp is slightly sweet and lacked any iodized taste. If you're having dinner, stick to the fresh catches of the day like halibut or haddock.

Despite being short staffed the team went above and beyond to look after us during our visit. Lovely food and amazing cocktails! Thank you to the team for looking after us in trying circumstances!

We had an exquisite night at the Diamond Edge Restaurant. There were 11 of us and we had drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts and all were exceptional. Clam chowder - excellent Watermelon salad - excellent Beef tenderloin - excellent Swordfish - amazing Lobster & crab raviolis - excellent All the desserts were great but the berry cobbler was outstanding. We sat on the deck and it was a beautiful night. Our waitress was superb. Highly recommend!

Fabulous food, knowledgeable and attentive staff who really care about making your experience at their restaurant the best it can be. The availability of outdoor dining with the best views in Casco Bay, coupled with a creative menu, food expertly prepared ( every time) and a great wine list really is an unbeatable combination. This restaurant does not spend hours on social media telling you how great or hip they are: they deliver an outstanding dining experience! There is a reason

This is the 2nd time I've gotten on Yelp to write a bad review. SECOND. We went here to simply grab a drink while we waited for our water taxi. Upon walking up to the front, we asked a guy (who most likely was either the owner or manager) if they were open. He appeared as though we personally offended him by asking this & proceeded to continue walking in while he scoffed at us & said: ya we're open for another hour. We walked in & the hostess told us we could sit in the bar area. So we sat in the bar area. And waited. And waited. No one came to serve us. So my husband goes up to the bar & stands there, waiting for service. As he does so, the bartender looks at him, rolls her eyes & continues to go about her business. So we get up, venture outside & love the view. We ask the hostess if there was any availability (as multiple tables stood empty). She said unless we were eating or had a reservation, there was nothing for us. Might I add she was the rudest hostess we've ever encountered. So we proceed to go back inside & sit back at a bar table (still with no service). Finally my husband was able to get the bartender's attention & order 2 drinks. When he asked her if there was any outdoor seating, she said there were some Adirondack chairs on the side we could sit in. How nice of her to let us know there WAS a spot outside to sit! Of course while we were waiting for our drinks, I heard the hostess ask a party who had come in if they were planning to eat. They said probably not. She told them "no worries!" and sat them OUTSIDE. Then she told someone: "it's fine - they're islanders." So there ya have it, folks. Unless you're an "islander", do NOT expect to get good, respectable service. So glad we ate at Crown Jewel instead of this awful, pretentious place!

No reservation, but we were able to get a seat due to pre-dinner time. Staff was Fabulous and welcoming. Accomidating due to heat wave and gave their personal opinion as if we were family! We felt comfortable and laughed a lot with everyone around us. Island residents are welcoming sharing stories! The food is AMAZING! LOBSTER chowder is a must! We shared Blackened tuna Tacos and cannot wait to return! Thank You for your hospitality! ❤

We had a table for 4 on the back porch. The view and atmosphere was fantastic. Our server was attentive, very informative and friendly. Our drinks were fantastic as well. But..... h I ordered the lobster chowder. We were given four spoons and were told we would be fighting over the lobster. The chowder was awful. It had only one small piece of lobster, the rubbery claw piece. The rest of the soup was basically a potato soup in a milk broth. It was terrible. Two of us ordered the Special Tomahawk rib-eye. Both of us tried our best to like it but could not succeed. Mine was cold, tasteless and just a bad fatty piece of meat. I know rib-eye is fatty, i usually love it, this was just poor quality beef. My wife's halibut and lobster was very good, and our friends swordfish was also very good. Overall for the price, i can only give two stars here. For that price the soup and steak should have been much higher quality. I will probably never return to this restaurant.

Fantastic food and great service. Wonderful location. Food looks like a magazine photo shoot.

I have lived in Maine for most of my life and had never heard of this place. I'm disappointed I missed all of those years of being able to enjoy this gem. The ferry ride out to the cove on a nice day is a great day event in itself. Once you get to the restaurant it just gets better. We sat on the corner of the deck staring out at the ocean and the pier. Great spot. The service was just okay because it was the first day of the season and our waitress was brand new at the profession and the restaurant, but she was very nice and you can tell she will do great. The food was excellent some of the better seafood I have had in Maine in general. We had crab cakes and deviled eggs for apps and they were delicious. I ordered a lobster roll and was very very happy with it. Just a great day trip and delicious lunch. Highly recommended.

We had drinks and appetizers...the setting is exquisite....food was superb but very pricey, service was excellent and very attentive. The one downfall was the dock manager. He was very pushy, and not respectful of our space. He chased us down to our table to make sure he got his $20 dock fee. (Most places don't charge a fee if you are spending money in their restaurant.) Add to that the fact that he asked for a gratuity, and had to "remind" us to tip the dock hand (we know that we're doing...) made it go from a five star to a three. For the price, portions should be bigger.
