The place was absolutely beautiful. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. Our server, Maria, was very personable. The food was excellent and wish we were able to spend more time there!

Beautiful setting but it stops there. Would caution dining there during wedding season and god forbid a night they are hosting a wedding. Restaurant patrons are definitely sacrificed for the wedding event. We dined on a night they hosted a wedding. Table service was painfully slow and although we had a 7pm reservation we missed the 9:30 ferry. That cost us $150 for a private ferry back to the mainland or wait until 11:30 which wa the next ferry option. The food was spotty. I ordered the pork loin and mashed potatoes for $42 but got a broil, dense pork chop and baked potatoes with chunks of under cook celery instead. Cafeteria food. At $42 dollars a plate, those are NYC prices, you do that in NYC and you are out of business by end of the week. Not worth the ferry ride frankly.

We enjoyed our evening, relaxing adjacent to the waterfront, EXCELLENT cocktails, attentive wait staff and AWESOME food. Limited menu choices but everything was done well. Overall a great experience.

Our group had dinner there last night, everything exceeded expectation except docking. We began with the tiro of appitizer sliders, Haddock, lobster and clams spectaular! I had the brined grilled pork chop, I will order it again, it was grilled to perfection, tender and jucy. Our guests has the fried clams very good and little neck clams over pasta in a delicate sauce that complimented the dish, one of the best we had. We have been eating at Diamond Edge for years, this year the food and service is one of their finest, the setting on the lawn can't be beat. The only downside which management needs to rethink is the Docwa dockage charge of $55.00 which is excessive as their competitors DiMillo's, Island Lobster Company, The Dolphin, offer boaters free docking with dinner. While the food, service and setting are excpetional, management is out of step with their competitors with their docking fee and unfortunatly I will not return or recommend them for the boating crowd untill their docking fee policy changes.

We learned about this place on vacation from another restaurant owner. It was a short ferry ride to get here from Portland. The view it self is worth it! The service could have been a little better- mostly younger kids working during the summer.
But, the drinks and food were amazing! My husband had a lobster with clams- so good and fresh. I had a spicy linguine with clams and mussels- it was so good! The clam chowder was also, very good. Highly recommend coming out to diamond cove, having lunch and exploring the fort. Very cool piece of history.

Great atmosphere. We’re told they lost our ticket. Waited 90 minutes for our dinner. They offered color pencils to our two children under the age 6, 60 minutes into the wait. Apparently they ran out of food due to wedding parities. We were served leftovers. They said they gave us a discount, but we paid full price. Very unpleasant experience.

The setting is beautiful, visually. However, the tendency of the management of this establishment is to play loud jarring music that does not match the setting. It is unclear why they choose to do that, as their clientele doesn’t seem like the type.

The food is not good. I made the mistake of ordering oysters, which are served room temperature on rock salt. Not appetizing and did not taste good, unlike everywhere else in Portland.

The service is slow. I heard every food delivery included an apology for the long wait while I was there. I found the slowness quite tedious given the length of time between getting a drink, then the long wait to get an unappetizing appetizer, and finally the unexpectedly long wait to get the chicken piccata dish that had to be Sysco. The waiter was pleasant and polite.

I think the only reason people come here is for the view, and it is quite nice. Overall, however, I would not personally return.

I have been going to Diamond’s Edge for years but this year was the worst it has ever been. We arrived with a boat and this year they charge a rate per day rather than per hour, which is ridiculous. The restaurant was dead empty yet it took over an hour to get our food. What made it worse was the fact that the wait staff and some kitchen staff were hanging on the back deck joking around. When the bill arrived, I was shocked at the amount. The final straw were the bathrooms. They were absolutely filthy. Blocked toilet and over flowing garbage cans. It was barely noon which means that the toilets had not been cleaned since the previous day.

The lobster roll was ABSOLUTLEY THE BIGGEST RIP-OFF IN THE STATE OF MAINE. $46, for a roll that MAYBE would sell for $15 anywhere else. Lobster is cheap...EXTREMELY cheap in Maine and to give MAYBE 3 ozs on a huge roll with shitty lettuce to bulk it up was horrendous. DO NOT ORDER LOBSTER ROLL. Absolute rip-off

We came for dessert on the last night the restaurant was open for the season (10/13/2024), thus several menu items were not available, including blueberry pie! 😱 Overall good establishment with full bar, but I do not recommend the clam chowder; seemed like it came from a can? My husband ordered warm lobster roll, which was packed with meat … perhaps they used everything that was left in the kitchen?! This single lobster roll was the best we had during our Maine travels. Kids ordered the only available ice cream flavor and flourless chocolate tart, which they gobbled up. My husband ordered glass of bourbon, and I had wine. Overall decent experience. Thank you!

When I visited this summer I had the greatest steak I have ever had. Our server was incredible and the view is just splendid. I cannot wait to come back once they reopen and try more of their food.

I've heard rave reviews over the years for this restaurant and finally had dinner there. Agree it's a lovely setting. You can't go wrong with the views in any of the Casco Bay islands. But the restaurant was such a let down. The 1 page menu had a strange mix of bar type food and dinners. We asked for bread - no bread. Our host ordered the scallop dinner as an appetizer. The scallops were excellent. But the plate was mostly french fries. I had 2 shrimp tacos for dinner. The flour taco shells were cold but the shrimp filling was delicious. When I finished I felt like I had just had an appetizer. The food is good but the limited menu and tiny serving sizes do not merit the price you pay. Glad I can say I went there, won't be back.

Super romantic and beautiful setting right on Casco Bay out on great diamond Island. Our waitress, MARIA was from Romania and spoke multiple language with ease. Wonderful service, wonderful food, and of course we had wonderful company dining out with four of us. I did not take pictures during the night, but here are a couple of the view we saw the next day. I am bringing our team Seacoast Roofing Of NH out here for a fall retreat. Darn it… I didn’t get any pictures of our table and how our view looked. But here are some pictures I took from the island.
