We came for dessert on the last night the restaurant was open for the season (10/13/2024), thus several menu items were not available, including blueberry pie! 😱 Overall good establishment with full bar, but I do not recommend the clam chowder; seemed like it came from a can? My husband ordered warm lobster roll, which was packed with meat … perhaps they used everything that was left in the kitchen?! This single lobster roll was the best we had during our Maine travels. Kids ordered the only available ice cream flavor and flourless chocolate tart, which they gobbled up. My husband ordered glass of bourbon, and I had wine. Overall decent experience. Thank you!
When I visited this summer I had the greatest steak I have ever had. Our server was incredible and the view is just splendid. I cannot wait to come back once they reopen and try more of their food.
I've heard rave reviews over the years for this restaurant and finally had dinner there. Agree it's a lovely setting. You can't go wrong with the views in any of the Casco Bay islands. But the restaurant was such a let down. The 1 page menu had a strange mix of bar type food and dinners. We asked for bread - no bread. Our host ordered the scallop dinner as an appetizer. The scallops were excellent. But the plate was mostly french fries. I had 2 shrimp tacos for dinner. The flour taco shells were cold but the shrimp filling was delicious. When I finished I felt like I had just had an appetizer. The food is good but the limited menu and tiny serving sizes do not merit the price you pay. Glad I can say I went there, won't be back.

Super romantic and beautiful setting right on Casco Bay out on great diamond Island. Our waitress, MARIA was from Romania and spoke multiple language with ease. Wonderful service, wonderful food, and of course we had wonderful company dining out with four of us. I did not take pictures during the night, but here are a couple of the view we saw the next day. I am bringing our team Seacoast Roofing Of NH out here for a fall retreat. Darn it… I didn’t get any pictures of our table and how our view looked. But here are some pictures I took from the island.

You can't beat the gorgeous setting of this place, overlooking the Diamond Cove Marina & Casco Bay. In addition, everything that we ate was absolutely delicious! But the best part was the exceptional service that our server, Maria, provided. She is kind, considerate, professional, efficient, humorous, and knowledgeable. We generally had very poor service at the Inn during our entire stay, so it was like a wonderful breath of fresh air to interact with Maria when we dined at Diamond's Edge!

Why would anyone drive to Portland, pass on all the Old Port has to offer for fine dining, pay for parking, pay $14/person for ferry ride to go to Great Diamond Island where literally is nothing except private properties and LOTS of "Private property" signage. Then have a mediocre meal at a very overrated restaurant by the water? We've had a poorly cooked and seasoned tuna steak, pink burger even I asked for well-done, and extremely over-seasoned fries which burned my lips and messed up my palate.
Listen to the bad reviews and do not make the mistake I made. Dine anywhere else in Old Port.
On the contrary to the other reviews, our waiter was very attentive and kind.

Great spot on the water for dining on the patio or lawn. Good music and vibe as well. However the food is not good. The only thing our table of 5 liked was the caesar salad. The linguini and clams had no flavor whatsoever (just boiled water), very greasy burger, the lobster fritters were served cold, the grilled corn side was also served cold and they ran out of ice cream for the blueberry pie. Overall service was slow and not attentive to details.

It was ok. But for the price it should have been great. I think if you were to go there and order a quick meal it would be worth it; but there was nothing truly special about this meal. I had the scallops; those were great but everything else was truly bland; so unfortunate as the meal itself was truly an investment. One we had been looking forward to.

We had much higher hopes than this place delivered. From the start the service was very underwhelming, food came out cold and NOT up to par with Maine seafood standards. Scallops were not tender, most everything was cold and some things cooked to death. After we mentioned to management, the service just continued to go down hill. No apologies, or recognition/accountability for anything. Terrible experience. When management is bad, it’s just a trickle down effect.

Terrible service! Had reservations, had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, took those 20 minutes to get a drink, once seated took an additional 20 minutes to see a server, ordered stuffed clams that were dry and overcooked and also took 20 minutes to get, had to waive down server to order our mains and more drinks, walked out after 20 more minutes…only good thing was view…was marginal because of the sheer amount of people packed onto the lawn…will never go back…felt like a fake affluent tourist trap

Overall we were very disappointed with this restaurant. While the setting was very enjoyable, the food and service were not. First of all, the service was abysmal. Not once did our server come over and ask how everything was, if we needed anything, etc. we had to flag her down to ask for more drinks and many times had to repeat our order and ask twice for things like salt. We also got attitude from her a few times. Now the food, oh boy. Not good at all. The appetizers we tried were very bland. My wife tried the skirt steak, which was very tough and not seasoned, the corn was cold. I tried the pasta with clams. This was one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had. The pasta was dry with no sauce or seasoning and there was just a wet, soggy watery broth at the bottom that had zero flavor. It was supposed to have a white wine base. It was just water. I even tried dipping the bread in it. Hard bread just made soggy with zero flavor water. It was so bad I sent it back and I never do that. The waitress was rude about it when I asked for something else. Then I tried the lobster platter. The lobster was fine but they do NOT give you drawn butter. It’s NOT butter, it’s basically oily popcorn butter or something like that. How do you mess that up?? It was disgusting. I just skipped the butter altogether. The potatoes were fine, the sausage was bland, corn was bland, nothing about that plate redeemed things. We just finished and left. Worst food I’ve ever had at a price point that was way too high.

I got the lobster bake and it was truly horrible. However, the service was amazing. The maitre d literally ran down to the dock to hold the ferry for us while we paid the bill. Amazing!! The restaurant had just opened for the season and maybe they weren't quite ready yet.
Parking: You have to take a ferry to get here

Food was cold and very mediocre. Not worth the price even though the view was fabulous. Our server worked hard and we appreciated her service very much.

If you like rude low grade chef's (Josh) if you like sloppy waitresses (Rachel) and if you prefer a management staff that publically (which can be proven, Gregg) condones slavery (eat here)

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Diamond's Edge this summer and WOW, it was such a great experience. The rooms are great for getting ready in. The staff is so attentive and will gladly cart you around the island as you need it, and you will definitely need it with so much going on during your Diamond Island Wedding. Diamond's Edge provides a professional, efficient, and friendly experience. Highly recommended!
