Fabulous oysters. Our dozen were a mixture all from Maine and were all distinctive and delicious. For a taste sensation try the scallop waffle-yaks which is modeled on the okonomiyaki of Japan - fabulous.
I'm only giving 3 stars because the portions are far too small. The food itself is really tasty with high quality, but the ceviche was a ridiculously small amount, less than the usual appetizer. I understand the hype, but we had to order 6 things for 2 people to feel satisfied.
Went to Eventide because it was recommended for its oysters (no surprise I guess given their name). We had a dozen raw that came from 3 different Maine locations. They were awesome - some of the best oysters I’ve ever had. So fresh, just the right amount of salty, just about melted in your mouth. Fantastic. They also have a good selection of craft beer - draft and cans. We didn’t try anything else there but if you want great oysters you can’t go wrong there.
This place has bad service... Stood for 20 minutes not 1 person ask for our drink order.. The lobster roll had about 1 oz of lobster ridiculous prices bad Slow service... If you're going to charge 5 star restaurant prices provide the service and quality If you're going to charge 5 star restaurant prices provide the service and quality.... Super pricey sat us with another couple at a table didn't even have a private table
Honestly if you don’t stop at Eventide oyster company while in Portland you are doing yourself a disservice. My goodness where do I even start! The atmosphere is casual but upscale. The wait time for a table was a little over half hour. We came around 2pm. You can sit outside as well. Landon, our waiter, was informative, gave great advice and explained where our oyster came from. Heck I even saw the oysters being delivered!! The lobster roll was delicious as well as the stew and crab roll and waffle….yes we ate. We traveled all the way from Polk, Pa just for a lobster roll and we got so much more than that. Do yourself and your stomach a favor and make sure you stop at Eventide oyster company. Ask for Landon, he won’t steer you wrong!
Hands down - get the waffle. 🧇
The first is on a different level. The thing you might think of what it could be but elevated to another level. The ice for the oysters is a clever way that I’ve rarely seen to present a sauce. Everything was great from the food to the service. Portion things out. Chat with people near by.
We highly enjoyed our visit to the area and Eventide! Food was great - oysters and lobster roll were amazing, great atmosphere, and employee serving oysters gave us good info on area. We will definitely make another visit to Eventide from Austin, TX!
Toro Katsu bun was burnt, fishy and inedible.
The roll was comped but it was so bad I wanted to make sure no one else ordered it

Sometimes a chef can be too creative. Service was great and the Sangria was outstanding.

Great place to have fresh oysters, lobster roll and hangout with friends. They only accept reservations for party > 6 , so you either come early or get on the waitlist and find somewhere else to have “dinner” first then come here. We get there around 6 and put party of 2 on the waitlist, they said an hour and 40mins but we waited for two hours and thought we just checking in again with the waiter. It turns out they did tried sending out a text but for some reason I am not getting it. They’re able to seat is right away. Had half a dozen different kind of oysters, my favorite was John’s river and Mere point. The lobster roll was the most special one I’ve ever had, soft brioche and the brown butter lobster combination was amazing! The wicked blueberry ale was a nice addition to the meal.

A MUST GO TO SPOT! The lobster rolls were the best we’ve ever had! Expectations were low for the tuna tartare but it blew any other out of the water! 10/10. Be ready to wait in the line for a bit & the earlier you come the better in my opinion. Definitely worth the wait!

Eventide was recommended to us for our visit to Portland. Thank goodness!! We LOVED the different oysters we tried - and the clam chowder. We didn’t wait long and had a great view of the harbor from our seats.

We did have to wait an hour and a half for seating, I do wish they would allow for reservations for 2. However, we had a great time. Our server Karrie, was so knowledgeable and we took all of her suggestions and it made for an amazing dinner. Brown butter lobster roll is a must!!!
