Korean bbq is a much needed addition to the Portland food scene! Food was excellent, and their service was great.

Love their Bento Lunch boxes and hibachi dinners. I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is fresh and delicious. The cooks at the hibachi tables are funny and entertaining. My only critique is that even with a reservation, you may find yourself waiting around for a hibachi table. I'm sure the timing is tough for them when it comes to getting one crowd out on time, without them feeling rushed.

Took the family for a special occasion. The decor is Asian slightly fancy and somewhat authentic. Close enough for good ambiance. We had a fancy sushi roll and a couple other appetizers including Dioza. All delicious. The entrees including noodles and stir fries were just as excellent. We all left happy and full. The price point is very reasonable considering the quality and freshness of the food. It would appear that every thing was freshly hand made. I was not disappointed when I got the bill. I highly recommend Fuji to anyone wanting to enjoy some Japanese cuisine.

Unaccommodating owner and Terrible service. We are a family of five and came for dinner. We wanted hibachi but they had no tables available so we sat in dining room. We were hoping to get hibachi but were told we were not allowed. We then asked if we could have lomein with our "from the kitchen" meal. They refused. We then asked if they had a kids menu for my six year old. The waitress said "not at dinner". We asked to speak to owner. She came over and refused to make any accommodation and would not allow a kids meal (like she offers at lunch) or a half portion. We left. Note restaurant was not busy. This was not about dollars per seat. The owners decision cost her a potential tab of $150 and when we left at 6:30PM on a Saturday in August there was no one waiting to fill our seat. Do not go here.

My friends and I were visiting Portland for the weekend and stopped in here to have some sushi for lunch. The location is perfect, right in the middle of downtown and all the shops. The service was friendly enough, but the food was unimpressive. We ordered three rolls and they took a long time to come out. When they finally did the taste was lacking and there was even a fairly large (about 1/2 and inch) bone in one of them.

My family and I stopped in on our way back to Boston and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered miso, subi mai, and gyoza to start. All were excellent. We had the Fuji sushi boat and lobster sushi- fish was exceptional, quite fresh. Prices were better than Boston. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

Good sushi, reasonable prices. Fresh Toro and Uni for me. Yum!

The Vegetable Sushi is a must, and the Green Tea Deep Fried Ice Cream is very good. Awesome prices! I love coming here with a few friends, but I recommend getting a reservation. This would be a great date night spot, maybe even a first date, but be sure they like Japanese food. If they don't... that would ruin your impression, but don't listen to me because I don't go on dates.

I always order the same shrimp/crab/tuna-base-special-roll at sushi restaurants (so basic! Don't judge!) and had the Fuji roll and was a little disappointed by the overwhelming masago(sp) sprinkled on top which over-fishified the subtle tuna and crab flavors :( but I was able to salvage the experience with a side of eel sauce. Last time we were there, the chef made us a really fresh locally caught tuna (sustainable? No idea, and I'm embarrassed to not know this, eek) salad. Really cozy atmosphere at the sushi bar, and welcomed reprieve from the bitter cold (Fall, spring, winter) of old town, Maine. Service is quick, and professional. Atmospherically, the sushi bar is the best and ideally for two or three.

Weird atmosphere.... hibachi was under construction although they didn't tell us until after we sat down which was the main reason we went. Sweet potato rolls were massive and amazing. Philly and Cali roll were regular.

Had one of the best sushi rolls of my life here. Can't remember the name but it was the bottom option on the menu 10/10 would recommend.

Been coming here for well over a decade for business lunches as well as friends and family lunches and or dinners. The service has always been good and the food is what you can expect from a sushi restaurant. They also have a sushi bar that you can sit at and watch the sushi being prepared as well as the sashimi. Parking...not easy, but you can find parking either on the street or in a few nearby parking garages. One of my go to sushi restaurants when in the mood for great sushi and sashimi!

We went there for my boyfriends birthday for the hibachi because of the rave reviews and being close to the waterfront. The hibachi section of the restaurant is in the basement and you are squashed in a smoky room with about 5-6 other hibachi tables right next to you. We had people in our party that were running late and were asked to call them on the phone and get their orders and were essentially told more or less to get us out of there quick cause “Saturday nights are their busy nights”. I understand this to a certain extent especially since the last of our party finally arrived 30 minutes after our reservation. However the way they went about it and the customer service was horrible. You don't tell guests soon after they arrive that you are trying to get them to leave ASAP. That's not right. When the hibachi guy finally came he wasn't fun at all, he kept dropping the utensils on the stove and didn't make a single joke. In addition the only acknowledgment he gave about my boyfriends birthday was a quick “happy birthday” over his shoulder as he was wheeling his cart away. I realize our group ended up being less than ideal, especially in the beginning, with waiting for the rest of our party to show up, however they could have gone about this better. The hibachi section of the restaurant was definitely a let down, I don't think I will ever go back again.

Was my first time visiting this restaurant. Overall I would say the sushi was decent, though far from being the best I've had. The ambiance was nice but our seating was a bit crammed. At one point a table was say behind us and we had to physically move our table. The service was a bit slow as we sat for a while before someone came over to us, where as the table sat after us had their order already taken. The sashimi was fresh and enjoyable, but the rolls were average at best. While it was okay I don't really think I'll be hurrying back for a visit.
