It was the thickest chowder I have ever savored, served at a perfect, steaming temperature. This dish alone would make me return.The fried calamari was crispy and flavorful, though a spicy mayo sauce on the side could potentially elevate this dish even further. The fried haddock followed suit, maintaining a delightful crispiness that was thoroughly enjoyable.While the prices were a tad high relative to the portion sizes, this is understandable given the restaurant’s prime location. Despite this, the overall experience was positive enough to warrant a return visit. This spot is definitely recommended for those who value quick service and quality seafood.

I think maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I got the half lobster roll and clam chowder. I didn’t know my lobster roll would be two bites of food…I’m not from around here. It was good, just not enough. The clam chowder, while also good, seemed to lack clams. It almost seemed like more of just a potato soup.My husband loved his lobster BLT and the photos in all the reviews look so good, so I’m not really sure how to rate this one.

We got the lobster stew, clam chowder and the crab sandwich.Everything was good, lobster stew has a very buttery and creamy taste. Crab sandwich was delicious and would recommend it over lobster roll.They have half sandwich options with sides of chowder so it’s great if you want to try out several items.
Was in the area with my boyfriend looking for seafood and we stumbled upon Gilberts and boy were we happy to. Service was super quick and friendly, and our server specifically was quick to answer all the questions we had (including MKT prices). Everything was cooked to perfection. To start, you seat yourselves so I can see how it would be problematic on a busy day, but on a calm day like today when we went in there was no wait. (Tuesday at Noon). Clean restaurant and they were playing straight hits on the radio one after the other. both the clam and the super seafood chowder were very flavorful, thick, and full of seafood. The bowls were not only overflowing but again they were packed with clams and haddock, lobster, etc. as sad as we were to learn that the lobster rolls were made cold with mayonnaise, it was still pretty good with the mayonnaise removed and warm butter added. The whole belly clam strips were really crispy and good too, especially with the cocktail sauce. We will be returning!!

Service was mediocre ...our server was outside before we came in and it seemed like maybe she wasn't having the best day. It happens. Had to ask for our chowder which was included with the food. Chowder was voted the best and we weren't impressed. Hardly any clams in it. Drinks were just ok- nothing special nothing I would order again- blueberry lemonade. Husband enjoyed the fried clams and the lobster blt is to die for!
