Overpriced and bad quality. The food here is pre-made/pre-packaged and thrown into a microwave. You can tell by the quality and flavor. My mashed potatoes taste store bought and were COLD IN THE MIDDLE. The Clam Chowder was completely forgettable which is a disgrace considering this restaurant is in Maine.
The lamb burger was good but the French Dip sandwich tastes no different than a deli cold cut sandwich, and the dip was generic.
Not a place I would recommend at $40+ per person to sit and eat!!!!
Go somewhere else! Trust.

Great service and nice atmosphere. Our loaded nachos with chicken were nowhere near worth $27. We felt totally ripped off. We really thought hey, why not? They’re probably really really good. They weren’t.

I have been coming to Gritty's since it first opened. Whether it was social or business I've always had a fab experience. And if course..... GREAT brews!
There are much better places to go to in Portland. The clam chowder, chili and lamb burger was good. The Shepards pie, was NOT. They serve it in a cereal bowl. I asked for no sour cream on the chili, it came out with sour cream. Service was terrible all around! Had to ask 3x for water, took forever for drinks to come and to get more....very disappointed to say the least. The sink in the women's bathroom didn't work!

went to grittys for lunch before heading out of town, i got mozzarella sticks and my friend got the clam chowder and we both got a house made beer. the beers was great the mozzarella sticks were good and cheesy but a little salty or greasy or something. my friend said the clam chowder was really good and would go back for that. i couldn’t get it because it had bacon in it and i’m pescatarian waaaahhh

Stopped in on Nov 13th for dinner with family and friends. Service was very friendly. Fried mozzarella sticks were great. Some solid beer options. Food was very solid. Wife had the Shepherd's pie and enjoyed it. I had a huge turkey sandwich which was great. Daughter had the bowl of chili which she said was very good. Son had a smash burger which he crushed. Tots were excellent.
Definitely worth a visit.

Went here for a late lunch and the food was great. Between my lobster grilled cheese and his lobster tacos, their food did not disappoint. The bartender Chelsea was very nice and gave us some local area information. Prices were reasonable for being in the touristy area. They had open air dining and a more closed room for warmth. Highly recommend.

Walked in and sat at the bar for a late lunch and to grab a beer. My server was fantastic and she was working hard. Offered a suggestion for a beer and it was good.
Lots of food sounded good. I tried the fried chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were a little soggy. Chicken sandwich was good. Good was pricey but kind of expected for the area.
Seating was ample. Atmosphere was nice.

Delicious Food and craft beer. The wings were really good and I was very impressed that they had not 1, but 2 beers on hand pulled casks! Service was excellent as well.

I have been here several times. It is a favorite of mine and many of the couples that I work with. The pub's interior brick work is perfect for photos and the atmosphere sets the scene to look like a movie. The drinks are amazing and the food is always consistent.

Great pub in the heart of Portland. A good selection of beers, served with a smile. The location is great, as is the decor. The food is what you would expect from good pub food. Definitely worth a casual visit for a drink and a bite.
