Went for first time, not sure if it was cause wife and I overwhelmed them with bringing our 4 kids or not. But we felt rushed and only our kids sandwiches are right(to a point), mistakes kept being made. I will try placing my next order through app for pick up in hopes that I have a better experience.

My family stopped into Jersey Mikes on Sunday after a day at the mall. The two young women on staff were outstanding, handling a long line and online orders with efficiency and superior customer service. Very impressed!

Jersey Mike's is my family's absolute favorite for subs. When we moved to Maine from Maryland, we were bummed out to see that there were no locations up here. So, when local JM's starting popping up in Scarborough, Windham, and in Portland (and, I think there are others, too), we could not wait to get our hands on a decent sub. The food scene in the Portland area is pretty awesome - but anyone "from away" has probably experienced shock over an Italian sub here (hint: it is not what we expect it to be!!). The Scarborough location was our go-to. We were dedicated weekly customers (in fact, we sometimes ordered more than weekly and it kinda became embarrassing). At first, our subs were fantastic - big, full of meats, cheeses, and toppings - just the way we were used to back home. And slowly, the quality, quantity, and customer service dwindled. Our last visit to the Scarborough location was when an employee mocked my daughter for requesting lettuce on her steak and cheese sub - and he talked trash about her not realizing that I was within earshot. When we saw a Portland location was opening, we were ecstatic - much closer to home and we hoped the food/service would be better than what we had experienced in Scarborough. Nope. I mean, I should give credit where credit is due and at least address that INITIALLY the customer service we received was fantastic - our subs were not. And, every single time we placed an order, whether it be in person, online, or on the app, there were issues with our orders. Every. Single. Time. So, yeah, when I'd call and speak to someone, I'd receive the obligatory apology, but at some point, it becomes embarrassing to have to call and complain after every order. And no, I am not some "Karen" that complains over every little thing - but after spending over $55+ for each order, getting home to find them totally wrong, calling management for replacements, it just becomes kind of exhausting.... Not to mention, embarrassing. This post is not about minor slip-ups either. I can overlook the missing pickles. I can overlook the missing lettuce (although requested under the order's special instructions as well as the special instructions for the entire order) - but when I receive a steak and cheese sub doused in red wine vinegar, not once, but twice, it leads me to wonder who is in charge of preparing these sandwiches??!! Our last couple of visits, we placed our orders online but immediately went to the store to oversee our sandwich prep. We introduced ourselves and offered to address any questions - but, the staff continued to talk about us as if we weren't within earshot. We have had to literally explain "please put pickles on the side" means we want pickles ON THE SIDE - not ON the sub with additional pickles on the side. Same situation with mayo. And for some reason, every time we request cherry pepper relish in the side, we are given red vinegar. We are throwing in the towel and giving up. We've tried. We tried with Scarborough and we tried with Portland - both locations need serious management presence. The staff may be up to par while being overseen, but when left to their own devices without a supervisor present? It's like having a sandwich prepared a la Hunger Games - may the odds be ever in your favor that you receive a high quality, fresh, properly prepared sub.... I am surrendering my status as tribute.

45 minutes after ordering online and 10 minutes after walking in, the woman working there asks my name. She takes my order off the ticket holder and says “I’ll start it now”… customer sitting there says to me “If you haven’t already ordered, I’d go elsewhere”. She hands me my sandwich 55min in and says “sorry, it’s just the 2 of us”. Being understaffed occasionally is tough, but regularly is a problem with management. This is my third straight similar experience at this location, I won’t be back! Plan accordingly with the Portland Maine, Brighton Ave location.

The absolute WORST location. If you want your order to be correct, do not order from them. They also NEVER pick up their phone so you can’t even speak to anyone about fixing it. Complete Waste of your money.

I had excellent service once during the day shift so I figured I would try again at night . Worst service, sandwich I have ever had there . So there was one lady trying to direct 2 others when I say direct I mean do three job as well as her job . I honestly hope she gets paid for 2 or 3 people . 1 sandwich the lady didn't even understand what vegetables she was working with . Then as I'm telling her she picks up oregano and dumps it on sandwich, I never asked for it . Then second sandwich we were trying to tell her but before we knew it there were onion on it . Nope never said onions . Then the poor lady doing everyone's job had to come ring it up because the lady making sandwiches didn't know how to ring it in . Please train better .

Food was great as usual from the chain, atmosphere was good and store was clean, service was slow but I got the sense it was due to new employees as there was a fair amount of hustle from trainers and manager.

Once again I get my sandwiches where it was poorly wrapped. Why was the bacon not on the sandwich but rather on the outside in the paper it was wrapped in? Sandwich not even cut appropriately to where I have to slice the sandwiches when I get home. Please properly train your people and stop hiring people that just don’t give a damn.

Our first time getting sandwiches here, omg. The sandwiches where so damn good, very filing and fresh. The customer service was decent, a little bit of a language barrier but they all smiles. We have found our new sandwich

Frequent this location often, and it's just getting worse and worse. The language barrier seems to be a huge problem. You tell the sandwich maker what you want and they just do what ever they want because my guess is they don't understand? Unfortunate because I work close and would get lunch here 3-4 times a week. Time to find some place new.

i love Jersey Mike's sandwiches, but the service has gone downhill quickly at this Brighton Ave location. If a manager isn't present, they have no clue, and frequently get the order wrong or some other issue.

Absolutely horrendous experience. First, we were totally ignored at the counter. I had to ask three times if we could order even though all five people behind the counter were doing absolutely nothing. There was one lady who appeared to know what was going on, and she left in the middle of an order to take a phone call in the bathroom. What?!? All four of my sandwiches were wrong and quite frankly were just not good. We usually LOVE Jersey Mikes but I will absolutely never go back to the Brighton Ave location. Scarborough is WAY better!!
