Ambience, incredibly friendly staff, and phenomenal food. I couldn’t ask for more. The staff was attentive without being too frequent, the music volume was just right, and the food…what can I say about the food? It was absolutely delightful. The duck buns, the fried chicken ramen, and the beef short rib ramen were all 10 of 10. I can’t say enough good about Jang Yan. I waited far too long to explore this gem.

We had an amazing time at Jing Yan and everything was delicious! The drinks were all outstanding. My favorite dish was the miso salmon, but our table loved the thai ginger and Korean Gochujang wings as well.

The food is so good we had the cold coconut noodles, the wings, the smashed cucumber salad (the wood ear mushrooms in this were amazing and probably the best wood ear mushrooms I've had), and the spicy tuna (also wildly the best spicy tuna I've had). Our server was perfect (literally no notes) and the restaurant is dim and cool and romantic. Also great drink menu. Also super cool art on the walls.

The best part about this place were the drinks. We ended up leaving after the disappointing smashed cucumber and Chinese numbing wings. The cucumber was so bland and the wings were so dry that we were scared to spend money on the entrees and have them be bad too... I would maybe give this another try some other day.

Small, cozy place. Have been here about 5 times and it has never disappointed. Excellent cocktails. I really only order the beef ramen as it's just so good, but my partner has tried other entrees and they are always very tasty.
I crave that poke bowl. I have lurid daydreams about that poke bowl.

Jing Yan is my go to restaurant in Portland. The cozy space, friendly and attentive staff and the food!! Best ramen in town! Also love to get a few small plates, particularly the shisito peppers and the seaweed pesto burrata! Can't go wrong with lychee cosmo!

Really yummy vegan cold noodle salad. Yummy drink made perfectly and quite a big pour for a lightweight like me. Good service.

This is a fantastic small restaurant at Munjoy Hill. They have paid a lot of attention to both food quality and design/atmosphere.
Cocktails were also excellent and well priced.

Cocktails were really tasty and innovative, the food was spectacular, service was friendly and helpful, and the vibe was cozy and fun. Will definitely be going back! Only downside was not many GF entrees and my partner is GF, but that’s ok.
