Very chill atmosphere in an eclectic setting. Food was tremendous with a lot of vegan options! Huge portions! Awesome service and staff! Can't wait to return!

Fabulous vegan options available at this friendly, funky throwback to the 1960's. Casual atmosphere, great food, righteous organization - what more could you want?!

Pricey but worth it if you can budget it in to support a local coop that supports local farmers. The food is tasty and the zine library has some interesting reads; they have fun events including a Sunday brunch concert, and an active community board making it a good place to plug into the goings on of Portland. One of the best things about local sprouts is that they do not pressure people to eat there. When I was homeless I would just hang out having coffee from time to time and work off my laptop, or just go their for a bit to get out of the cold, and the workers were very understanding and supportive. I appreciated that a lot.

Was less than thrilled with the food here. I ordered the breakfast burrito that was all scrambled eggs and basically nothing else. My wife had the tofu scramble, which was a little better... but I was just not overly in love with my food there. I'm sure other people have loved their items, but I just didn't. Had high expectations and they weren't met.

There used to be a lot of good things about Local Sprouts years back but things have gone radically down hill in the last 1-2 years. #1. The place is dirty. Like, dir-tay. Tabletops are sticky, the floors are filthy and everything just has a layer of griminess that could be rectified if they closed shop for a day and got their groove on with a mop and bucket. #2. They are constantly out of menu items. I visited in the middle of the summer and they were out of tomatoes, mushrooms and greens. What? How? Every time I go, they're out of at least a few key items and I really get the impression that this is a result of poor oversight in ordering or money issues. #3. The staff, which is pretty much all newer people need to mind their cleanliness when making food and beverages. I found a long, nappy hair UNDER my saucy breakfast burrito and watched a staffer blow their nose and take great care to thoroughly clean it out, before returning to making espressos without washing hands. If the quality and cleanliness issues were resolved and a bit more attention was placed on kitchen consistency, I think LS could return to its former glory as the quintessential hippy eatery of Portland.

Vegan Mac w/ mushrooms is my all time favorite. It doesn't have a ton of flavor but it's pretty good for vegan. It hits the spot when you want Mac and cheese but not all the cheese.

Really bummed that they updated their hours to never be open past 5pm. This used to be my go-to dinner spot for something healthy, delicious, and affordable. Alas, they've bailed on the dinner hours... I am so sad! Maybe one day they'll come back around so I can eat disgusting amounts of the vegan mac, like I used to.

We had a good experience here for lunch on a Thursday morning. It wasn't terribly crowded so we were able to find a seat right away, and we were served promptly by a young guy who was really trying his best to be friendly. My daughter is vegan and was pleased with all the options she had. She ordered the pancakes - which were HUGE enough so that she could only finish one, and she really loved the fruit sauce. I ordered the scrambled eggs with mushrooms, potatoes and a side of bacon. I love crispy bacon, but this was dry. The eggs were okay, but not terribly flavorful. The kombucha was good. Funky atmosphere, interesting folks and a nice connection point for those looking for like (liberal) minded souls.

Excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Local Sprouts has a very distinctive vibe -- grungy and ever-so-slightly scuzzy, with lots of random old furniture. But if you're into that, it's a very chilled and pleasant place to hang out.

Locally owned by the employees and it shows in everything they do: Great locally sourced organic food, conscientious service, and cool mellow vibe that often features local artists and musicians! I Highly recommend it!

More than just great coffee, brews, and wine. This is where revolution starts. Also, their spicy bacon sandwich 😋
