Was so disappointed with my meal at Maria's. Salad that I ordered with vinegarette dressing was pure red wine vinegar. Veal parmigiana- the veal was fine, but the sauce was terrible. The bread was nothing special, and was served with about 2 tablespoons of olive oil for 3 people. Too pricey for poor quality. Will not be returning.

There's a reason this place has been a staple since 1960. It's a no-fuss but welcoming atmosphere , and feels true to its roots. The food was well priced, and the portions are very generous (hello leftovers!). We had the bruschetta, lobster stuffed haddock, and pistachio cannolis -- delicious all around. Would recommend!

Classic old school Italian restaurant. The pasta and meatballs were great as was the chicken parm. Prices were great considering how nice the meal was. Very friendly staff. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Got the eggplant Parmesan and it was quite burnt, my wife got the chicken piccata and it was excessively dry. Not worth the price we paid. First and likely last time we visit.

I was excited to order takeout from here as a first time customer. My parents love the food so I went all in with the bruschetta, as the stuffed artichoke hearts weren’t available, it was just bread with some balsamic on it and sliced in half mini tomatoes. The menu said “Full with Fresh Mozzarella and Ripe Tomatoes”. I called to let them know there was no mozzarella and they said “thanks for letting us know”. Next is the rigatoni with meatballs. VERY large portion and meatball was good, only complaint was it a little short on sauce and cheese. I couldn’t even eat a quarter it was very filling. I got a sandwich and slice of cake, but those will be for tomorrow. The prices were all more than what’s on the “takeout” menu. Rigatoni and meatball listed as 17.00, charged 23.00. Bruschetta was 13.00 on menu listing mozzarella, I was charged 14.00 with no mozzarella. The sandwich for tomorrow was the only thing correctly priced and charged. Lastly is the SLICE of cake for 10.00.
****The sandwich was listed as: Italian Cold Cuts with Roasted Peppers and Mozzarella for $17.00. The price was right but the sandwich didn’t have roasted peppers just a bunch of cold cuts and a thick piece of mozzarella on top.

Dinner after work and a long drive. I managed to get in before they shut down service. I ordered haddock stuffed with lobster. It came with a nice salad and fresh bread with olive oil for dipping. The food took a long time to prepare but it was worth the wait. Served over linguini it was a very generous portion of both Haddock and lobster. Despite the late hour, my server was friendly and attentive. I heard good things about their canola but was full.

I am writing to provide feedback on a recent dining experience at your restaurant. We were initially captivated by the charming ambiance, complete with linen tablecloths and napkins, cozy seating, and an inviting bar area. Our first impressions were very positive, and we were looking forward to a wonderful meal.

Our server was efficient, though not very conversational. The salad and bread served before our main course were absolutely delicious, a delightful rarity to receive both with a meal.

However, when our main courses arrived hot and steaming, my husband's seafood special, specifically the fish, was unfortunately mushy, barely cooked, and both our lacked flavor. Need more seasoning more garlic or something This significantly lowered our expectations for the meal. We understand that everyone can have an off night, and we wanted to bring this to your attention.

Couldn't have been a better meal. The service was a 10...ask for Cassi as a server. The support staff was so helpful. Our food couldn't have been better. Great portions with a great price. My girlfriend's birthday was celebrated that night. The whole restaurant sang her Happy Birthday. Best meal we have had in Portland. The owners deserve a pat on the back.

This was the first time eating at Maria's and we unfortunately came during a time they had an abbreviated menu. Having said that we did enjoy our meals, my husband had the rigatoni with marinara and a side of broccoli and garlic. He said the pasta was cooked properly but the marinara was a bit bland. He enjoyed it nonetheless. I had the shrimp scampi and it was perfectly cooked! The shrimp were fresh and scampi sauce was delicious!

Lastly we had their house made cannoli which was outstanding and I highly recommend it. Perfectly sweet, creamy and with just a bit of crunch.
