Though I happen to live near this very McDonald's location, I have eaten there plenty of times. Although there are no complaints with the food or service---though cleanliness needs to improve a bit or a lot more.
There was only a bit of a mess up with the order one time last year. I requested bacon on my Double Quarter Pounder with cheese (also requested Mac sauce) with fries, and drink. He forgot the bacon twice since I requested it on my receipt. I calmly and politely pointed out the mistake was repeated. At least the manager was nice and professional when he finally understood the problem. Not only did he compensate me by correcting the mistake and finally added bacon to my Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese (Mac Sauce was already added as requested), but he also gave me two McDonald's gift cards as compensation and gave me a free burger. At least the manager was professional and respectful.
Fast Forward to today: when I was eating my supper at this McDonald's location, some random panhandler was asking me to lend him money by way of harassing me. I don't appreciate strangers or anyone else asking me to lend them any money---or when I'm still eating. I don't care who they are, I will not tolerate anyone asking me to lend them cash, and they're ought to be a law to discourage people from asking customers for money. My guess is the other customer who harassed me may have been a drug addict and probably had a history of squandering his cash for drugs and booze, and I won't even stand for it. Customers (especially those who I don't even know) need to be a lot more respectful of my boundaries and the boundaries of all the other customers. Another incident is children being unreasonably loud in the dining area (I.e. outside of the play area) and horse playing in the cashier line. Though I would give five stars for food and four for reliable service---maybe five for the employees' professionalism, it pains me to give only two stars overall---but that is only directed both at loud children and mostly directed at the panhandlers for them treating me like a bank, which is by way of harassing me. I'll still come back to enjoy my meal, but I do not ever want to see any panhandlers ever again. They should be arrested for extortion and harassment.

It's McDonald's. Nobody wants to be there, even the people poor enough to eat there, including myself. Food is food and I was thankful to get it.

This location is awful. They're always slow, they always screw up my order and the employees are always rude. I was sitting down eating one day and the employee was being SO condescending to a customer ordering. One time I was waiting for like 10 minutes just to ask for ketchup, I was waving at them to try to get their attention and finally I just grabbed a couple ketchup packets because they were right there behind the counter. One of the employees yelled at me, "don't do that!!". Didn't ask me nicely, didn't try to explain that they're really busy(which they were a little busy but it wasn't anything crazy...) nothing... I just don't understand why they can't keep the ketchup out if they have such a problem getting it for customers. Another time we were sitting down eating and an employee was mopping the floor, she started mopping closer and closer to us. I'm not even joking, she straight up started mopping under our table and was mopping my boots as we were eating. Now don't get me wrong, some of the employees aren't rude or slow. But it just takes one to spoil the day, and if there's one rude employee EVERY TIME I go there, it's a pattern. I would just suggest going to the McDonald's on Forest Ave. I've never had a problem at that one.

Our order was missing half of its food, and this isn’t the first time! We sat at the pick up window for 5 minutes to get someone’s attention to correct it. The lady working the drive through was very dismissive as well. Wouldn’t recommend.

Drove up to the drive-thru, waited 5 minutes and no one took my order. I then drove up to the window and there was no at the window and had to knock on it several times before someone came up. I asked if they were open and they said yes. And then placed my order and still had to wait another 10-15 minutes for my order to come out even though I was the only customer.

25 minutes after open and no one at the drivethru or inside counter after waiting. Might as well be closed.
"Deluxe" chicken sandwich basically had no chicken, was just breading. Awful, never had something like that at a McDonald's location before

The service has been sub par the last few years with the majority of the new people they hire. Maybe a language barrier or just don't know what common courtesy is.

The McDonald’s location in Portland, Maine, deliver on the basics you’d expect from the golden arches—quick service, affordable options, and consistent classics like Big Macs and fries. However, the experience can vary depending on which location you visit.
The drive-thru is generally efficient, though during peak hours it can slow down considerably. Inside, the dining areas are usually clean, though they can occasionally feel understaffed during busy times, leading to longer waits for service or slower clean-up of tables.
The quality of the food is hit or miss. Fries are fantastic when fresh, but there have been times they arrived lukewarm or undersalted. The burgers and other menu items tend to be prepared properly, though it’s not uncommon for a special request (like no pickles) to get overlooked.
Staff interactions are usually polite, though not particularly engaging—understandable given the pace of work. The self-order kiosks are a nice touch for convenience, but they can be finicky.
Overall, this is a reliable spot for a quick bite when you’re craving McDonald’s, but it’s not without its occasional hiccups. If you’re in a rush, the drive-thru is your best bet.
