This place is such a hidden local gem. Newscapes Brewing is tucked away in the middle of bustling Washington Ave in a spot that looks like a residential home. But wow, the vibes! If you want to experience a totally different vibe from all the other local breweries / bars and feel like you're grabbing drinks at a friend's place where you'll happen to meet cool strangers, this is it. You'll have to get cozy with folks because it's a small place! The owner Jeff and his wife run the place and make all their own beer and food (pizza, burgers, some asian). They host trivia nights on Wednesday and are getting musicians to perform in the future (any interested musicians?). Can not wait to go back with friends. So lucky to have this in our neighborhood!

In addition to good beer and food, this is the only Bills Backer Bar in Maine! Highly recommend Newscapes!

My high school buddies get together once a year and explore various places...this year we chose Portland Maine. We went here 2 days in a row. Jeff thanks for opening early for us yesterday! We may come back to Maine just for this bar!

This was supposed to be a new Buffalo Bills backer bar. I walked in, and immediately noticed an odor of some sort. The owner was nice but was not sure how to get the game on the TV. Two guys came in also unable to figure out the TV, so that sat at their table watching it on their phone. It was super cramped inside. My wife and I left and found another location that had about 20 TVs and the game on.
