My friends and I stumbled into Newscapes while searching for a neighborhood bar and were glad we did. Awesome bar that gave us an authentic Portland feel. The owner Jeff is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone visiting town for a weekend.

Walking up we thought we were in the wrong location… hot tub, kids toys, and a Buffalo Bills flag. We could see two guys drinking beer inside so we went to the door. Once inside we met Jeff and Raina the owners and met Andy and Gary two other customers. Felt like we were drinking with old friends. Relaxed cool people. Fantastic beer. Watched South Park and had some great laughs. Unique and special. Great!!!

This place was one of the highlights of my time in Portland. It is small, the owner was fantastic, everyone there was great to talk to. The beer was delicious as well. I was impressed and so glad we happened upon this place.
This place is such a hidden local gem. Newscapes Brewing is tucked away in the middle of bustling Washington Ave in a spot that looks like a residential home. But wow, the vibes! If you want to experience a totally different vibe from all the other local breweries / bars and feel like you're grabbing drinks at a friend's place where you'll happen to meet cool strangers, this is it. You'll have to get cozy with folks because it's a small place! The owner Jeff and his wife run the place and make all their own beer and food (pizza, burgers, some asian). They host trivia nights on Wednesday and are getting musicians to perform in the future (any interested musicians?). Can not wait to go back with friends. So lucky to have this in our neighborhood!

In addition to good beer and food, this is the only Bills Backer Bar in Maine! Highly recommend Newscapes!

My high school buddies get together once a year and explore various places...this year we chose Portland Maine. We went here 2 days in a row. Jeff thanks for opening early for us yesterday! We may come back to Maine just for this bar!
