My in-laws live in Portland, ME, and we're there several times a year. Last trip I went to Onggi twice a day. I'm Asian-American, and we live in Los Angeles, so the flavors are familiar, but they were done at such a high level. The kimchi spritz was a total revelation in complex flavor - so so good! pleasantly surprised with the amount of genuine japanese goods! the matcha is LEGIT. not as fresh as the stuff i've had in japan by case of proximity, but pretty darn close doe portland maine.

One of the best spots in town to grab a pastry and drink. I ordered the matcha black sesame mochi which was to die for. I also ordered a Hojicha latte with a black sesame foam. Both were perfect, the service was quick and helpful. There is also a cute shop in the front of the store and the coffee is in the back.
