Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!Delicious food! Amazing drinks! Wonderful staff! Great vibes! Authentic Puerto Rican food that you must savor every bite. My wife and I always request “The Lovers” booth. It is private and super romantic.Chef Ron, his wife, and all of his staff go above and beyond to make you feel like welcomed from the moment you walk in.Papi Portland is a definite Go To for great food, great drinks and a great time with folks that quickly make you feel like family. We cannot pick our favorite food. It’s everything every time. The surullos, empanadas, carne guisada, tostones, pernil, carrot salad were delicious!!!!Thank you Papi Portland for another wonderful night! See you later!

I want to start off this review by saying the service was wonderful and the food and drinks were delicious! Definitely get the tostones! That being said, if you’re brought to the booth I would warn you to politely request another open table or a spot at the bar if available. Our dining experience/atmosphere was not great, though. We were seated in the only booth in the restaurant- a (very) small cutout in the wall (that my husband and I dubbed “the grotto”) and the entire time we were looking wistfully out at the main dining room, wishing we would be able to sit out there, and by the end of our meal we just rushed through the rest of the drinks willing the check to come faster so we could get out of there. The booth is very small- we had to interlock our legs, and the table is a two-tiered approach with a drink shelf on the wall and a table that barely comfortably fit our food. The light was green, which at first was fun but it did make the food look a bit unappetizing and we wished we were sitting out in the main area with beautiful soft warm lighting. The little booth was also extremely warm. There were 4 candles in our small enclosed 8 square feet of dining room and it quickly became uncomfortably warm, my hair sticking to my neck 20 minutes in.Writing this review kind of breaks my heart because the food and the service truly was great, but if I’m going out to eat and the entire time in the back of my mind I’m wishing I were somewhere else, that’s an issue.

The design and aesthetic of the restaurant is absolutely amazing elegant yet warm and inviting The food was some of the most flavorful I have had in a long time our waitress Chelsea was amazing . We have a young baby and the chef as soon as we sat down sent us sliced up oranges for him to munch on before we even placed an order. Now the cocktails are in my opinion and by far the best I have had in portland and I like to think ive been to all the top spots loved how they are different but not trying to hard to be different to the point that you dont know what you are drinking besides the alcohol in the drink. All in all 10/10 definitely will be back for more

I thought it was just fancy presentation. Oh, I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. Photos won’t do justice to the exquisite flavors. I know I know, presentation reflects the skills and experience of the chef and the staff, but I’m not posting pictures this time because I really want you to be there and experience the atmosphere, flavors, and excellent customer service at Papi, Portland, ME.

Wow. What an experience. We were recommended by multiple people throughout our stay in Portland and really they should’ve shouted it at us. YOU MUST GO. The entire experience was incredible. Selena greeted us at the door with overwhelming kindness. River & Shane served us the most delicious cocktails. The tacos and empanadas were absolutely delicious. It was a vibe. It was an experience. It was something I’m so glad I did while we were in Portland. An absolute must have.

A beautiful environment, incredible food, and amazing staff. I have no complaints at all about my visit and Papi has officially become one of my favorite spots in Portland.Prices are on the higher end, expect to pay $20 to $30 per person for food, with cocktails in the $15 to $20 range. I went with a friend, we each got an amazing meal and two cocktails apiece. They were beautifully constructed and delicious. We spent about $55 each. That said, I would definitely consider it worth the money here. Thank you very much Papi for an incredible experience!
