The Big Chief is what I had tonight and I was quite pleased. The sandwich was well filled and flavorful. The sides we ordered along with the different sauces were all on point. Staff is friendly and willing to offer suggestions. We will definitely be returning!
This restaurant serves legitimately the best sandwich in Maine. I went in with my husband's order and talked to the owner while looking at the menu. I didn't know what I wanted. The owner gave me his insight into the 3 options I chose and why each one was good. He was transparent about where the food was sourced from and even reccomended fried pickles, macaroons and several other restaurants to me while I was there. I loved what I ate, the cheeseburger ? po boy...
I’ve lived in Maine for the past 10 years, and grew up in Louisiana. For my southern transplants, I know you understand the nostalgic feeling of missing the food you grew up with. If you know what it means to miss New Orleans, this restaurant is the closest thing you will get to an authentic po boy- and I will always recommend them. They occasionally serve southern beer as well! I hope they bring Abita back some day. The food is fabulous and the bread is JUST RIGHT!
