My sister and I brought my mom here for a Mother’s Day weekend private lesson. The staff at Portland pottery was so accommodating with our reservation to allow us to bring along my 9 month old and daughters age 7&4. They had their own hand building time while we worked on the wheel. Our instructor Allegra was so kind and helpful. Stopped here just to look around for Christmas shopping and ended up browsing for an hour or so. The studio is considerably bigger than it looks from the outside, their Christmas sale had a variety of pieces from a variety of artists, and there were even some plates with cheese and crackers, and Christmas mints.The people working there were friendly and helpful, wrapped our purchases for us, and gave us some info about classes. We had the most wonderful time taking a pottery class on our trip to Maine! Karen was the best instructor anyone could ask for, she was so helpful, kind, patient (if you were with us you’d know) and encouraging. We loved learning about the studio and getting to understand the process all together. We couldn’t ask for a better experience, so thankful for Karen and the studio!
