I've followed Regards and looked forward to eating there for years. I've learned over time to temper my expectations for highly anticipated dinners and to keep an open mind, especially with small and independent restaurants who are trying to be thoughtful and ambitious. For the first time in a while, I found myself really blown away by the dining experience of this small restaurant and I'd say it exceeded my every expectation! Everything was impressively well balanced, thoughtfully plated and delicious. I was really impressed by the timing of our dinner, the speed of the coursing encouraged us to try different dishes together and to dip our generous serving of tostadas in the many different delightful sauces featured on each plate. We finished our meal with the bone in short rib, served simply with mole and tortillas. I approached this dish with the mindset that it's probably a safe bet for the kitchen from a preparation and cost perspective. I destroyed the short rib, enjoying every last bite, and later found out it was the first day for this dish on the menu! I found that quite impressive, as it is difficult to pull off cooking a perfect braise and presenting it as beautifully while maintaining an excellent texture. This goes to show that the true talent of this kitchen is humbly masked by simple, thoughtful, presentation with an emphasis on depth of flavor. I hope to dine at Regards again soon in the future.

We have loved Regards each of the three times we've been there. We brought friends last night who also loved it. The food is always unique with so much flavor. It's one of our favorites in the Portland area and never disappoints.

Cannot recommend this place enough.
Went for a NYE fixed menu, sitting at the bar. Dishes were beautiful, service skilled and kind, and the owner we met (Kim) was lovely. Drinks were balanced and beautiful.

My boyfriend and I walked into Regards last night around 5:30 and were lucky to get two seats at the bar. Our bartender was Michael F. and he was outstanding. There was a sudden rush and he got to everyone promptly and gave us all details we needed about the menu. The food was SUPERB!! This place never disappoints and I love the ever changing menu. Last night we had the scallops, burrata, tamale and birria tacos…we didn’t leave a crumb on our plates! Also, the eggnog ice cream was something I wouldn’t typically order but again another must have! Thanks to the front and back of the house for making this a stellar experience.
I’ve come to Regards several times over the past few months and every time I find myself loving it more and more. Every dish I get is exciting and even dishes that I’ve had before feel brand new every time. I cannot recommend Regards enough.
Went there for Christmas Eve dinner. For the price paid the portions were too small. We felt that we received the same portion sizes of a two people group beside us (while we were three). Overall quality was good, and service was outstanding. But after paying roughly 150 per person we left still hungry.

The space was formerly a Greek restaurant, which I liked a lot. I wasn't sure if Regards could live up to my expectations. It did! The lamb was the best I've ever had. I'll definitely go back.
Food was flavorless and overpriced. Wish my wife and I never stopped in, it was just the only place with tons of tables available (it was completely empty when we walked in)

Would give 0 stars if I could… we ordered the avocado which had virtually no flavor and was over salted. We also tried the shrimp tacos which would have been fine but the tortillas they were on tasted stale and dry. We thought maybe the larger dishes would be better but the hamachi collar was literally gummy and had a grainy sugar flavor. Will not be returning, there are plenty of great restaurants in Portland, don’t waste your money

Modern cuisine, which means unrecognizable ingredients, unusual cooking techniques, and small portions. That’s not necessary bad, although some results were more successful than others, like the roasted cabbage with Caesar sauce, and the prawn tacos on house made blue corn tortillas. Less memorable were the desserts which all consisted of ice cream in some form, not exactly appealing on a freezing cold November night.

Very very small portions for the price. My duck not seasond, at all (4-5 chicken nugget size cuts of duck. the bar has a very small selection of liquor, and the restaurant portraits itself as fine dining yet the wait staff is wearing carhartt beanies. Wanted a fancy dinner with my wife and left hungry. To be clear, it wast bad, just want great either.
