Really cute place! Amazing mushroom sandwich and great coffee - excellent for breakfast and lunch! On a sunny day, the location is amazing with water views and indoor/outdoor seating. Can't wait for the business to expand and the Clam Bar to open! In the meantime, definitely check this out during the day.

Great food and cute place. Don't miss it!

Excellent chicken sandwiches, but don't sleep on the sides either. The fries are shoestring style, and have the perfect amount of crispness and salt. The mac and cheese is super creamy, and also highly recommended. Definitely check this place out.

The Nashville Hot Chicken is just the right level of heat and the fries have that crisp outside yet stay tender inside. Definitely worth a visit!

The food here is super. We stopped in for lunch today without reading any reviews/knowing what to expect. We had the poutine, chicken tenders basket and a side of mac and cheese for lunch and everything was delicious. Taking off one star bc we waited for it for 30+ minutes which feels like awhile for a fairly small order. Then again- the kitchen is small too- and it was definitely worth the wait!

I had a Nashville sandwich and shoestring fries - chicken was about perfect and the sauce had a bite and a slow burn but wasn’t over the top. Staff was super friendly and though it was freezing out (like 9°) - the sandwich and great personalities helped warm me up quick. Also there’s a Thai coffee they call “goat boy” - this is not to be trifled with. More caffeine than you can shake a badger at.

Delicious sandwich with really good poutine. They support the Locker Project, too!

A great little place tucked away just around the corner from busy Fore Street. I've been reading about the Royale since it opened and finally made it there for lunch. Interesting menu with sandwiches like smoked brisket, fried chicken, steak, grilled cheese, with yummy ingredients like syrachia mayo, coleslaw, pickles, etc. There was a smoked tomato soup that was really thick and tasty and went great with the grilled cheese. Freshly made fries are excellent, and they also offer Poutine. They serve breakfast until 11, looked like some yummy breakfast sandwiches. If you are a fan of milkshakes they have quite a few, including one made with spiced iced coffee. There are a few rotating beers on tap. We sat at the counter and had great service. They close at 3:00, but what is really fun about the Royale is what happens on Friday and Saturday nights; they open up again from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. serving just fried chicken and fries! The menu notes there are a few different ways to get your chicken including plain, Korean bbq, Sriracha, and Nashville Hot. Well worth a visit!!

Excellent Service! Some of our food did not turn out how we would have liked based on preference and the owner went ABOVE and BEYOND to address the issue. We loved what he made us afterwards. Great place!

I was looking for a good breakfast/brunch spot while in Portland on business, and a lot of the places down by the water had lost power due to some serious storms that had just come through. I rolled up the street and saw the Royale Lunch Bar, and the vibe was super inviting so decided to give it a try. What a great choice! The folks running the place are super friendly, and their food was superb. Had a coffee with a little shot of whiskey (tip: they pour VERY well here, so be aware!) and also their breakfast burrito and potatoes, which they are known for. WOW - awesome and very filling breakfast. Food came out quick and I was on my way. I would definitely come back - highly recommended if you're in the area!

I've eaten at Royale Lunch Bar a few times. Every time has been great. There are a few things I'd recommend you try:

Awesome little spot for lunch, great atmosphere, music had a blues and jazz vibe to it. Hidden gem in downtown Portland. The food was served very quick, was great quality and a lot of flavor. Staff was very friendly.
