We had the best anniversary dinner here! Wyatt was our fabulous server. He was so amazing! Attentive, but not hovering. Kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. We would recommend Scales to anyone! In fact everyone we spoke to was fantastic. Can’t say enough good things. We will be back for sure and appreciate this amazing service and food.

We like Scales tremendously and wish we could go more often. The service is wonderful as is the food and presentation. We typically dine predominantly on special occasions as the prices are dear and everything is à la carte. I always give it an overall four (4) for this reason only.

This reservation was for a birthday celebration. We had a reservation for 7PM. We did not get seated until about 730PM and we were only given the option of either sitting at the bar or sitting by the door/bathroom. Our server did a great job but the local catch came out undercooked. Ultimately we decided to leave early without finishing our meal. Bummer.

Best seafood restaurant in Portland...the baked haddock was perfectly cooked with a wonderful sauce. And don't forget the camel popcorn sundae for dessert

Food and service was superb. Noise level was much lower than the few times we were here before. I think being at the front of the restaurant was helpful in that regard. Love this place.

Scales provides the best dining experience every time. The bar is our favorite spot, we love watching their talented team shuck oysters and prepare salads. If you're in Portland, do not miss this place!

We couldn’t get a reservation for a table within 48 hours, but we were able to get a reservation the same day to sit at the bar during the dinner hour. We had a really good time talking with our bartender Guy. He made my husband an old-fashioned with berry flavored liquor, which were amazing. We both had lobster rolls and they were completely delicious and we also had fresh blueberry custard with blueberries from Maine. This is a really fancy restaurant on the harbor. Lots of windows and light make this space look huge.

An absolute gem!!!! I am from Houston, Texas and took my boyfriend here for a surprise trip to Maine and chose to dine at Scales. Absolutely best food I have ever had in any restaurant in all my travels (and I’ve been to 40 states and 30 countries). This presentation of food, the combination of flavors, combination of textures; IMPECCABLE!!!! We were sat immediately for our reservation time of 7:30, although it did take 13 minutes to be greeted or provided with water by our waitress. But once she did come to us, service was excellent from then on. The restaurant was slammed and it was Monday. I will literally come back to Maine from Houston just for this restaurant.
