Bittersweet to be writing this review as I will not be able to go here again due to them closing. Glad I was able to make one more stop here once we saw they announced the closure. Fond memories of slab from great beer events held during Maine Beer Week years ago. Along those lines, you could always count on a great taplist with beers from Maine and further. I was on my way out of Portland when I decided to stop at Slab Sicilian Street Food to get a Sicilian slice of pizza since it had been a while since I had a good Sicilian style pizza.
It has a modern vibe that approaches modern, industrial. I think it was technofunk music playing in the background, but it was relaxing.

I visited a relative recently for a get together and she served Slabs pizza. The thicker pizza was quite delicious, albeit the crusts could have been a little less burnt. But the flat pizza shown in my photo was so burnt on the bottom, this pizza was left in everyone’s plate. Never having eaten in person at Slabs, I cannot rate the service and atmosphere.
