Nice quiet place to have coffee and sit for a bit. We got single origin pourovers — not mindblowing, but quite good.

Got a coffee and tea and was not impressed. Staff was rude and were talking with friends and acting like they really didn't want to be working (I know nobody wants to work) . Some how a small Coffee and small tea was $10

Very nice coffee shop. Found them becuse of a collaboration with Allagash where they made an awesome coffee stout using their beans.
They offer pour over coffee and it was very good. Their beans are great too if your into making your own.

So so slow for mediocre coffee
The espresso is excellent but I miss the old staff... It's a less consistently kind experience than it used to be.

Quiet but trendy spot with a pretty good cold brew.

The pour-over coffees were excellent. We even bought a bag of beans to bring back with us to Florida.

I was at think tank down the street while visiting Portland and someone there told us Speckled Ax was the place for coffee in the area. It was so good we went twice during the weekend!! I had the iced maple latte which was perfection. This also looks like a good place to spend a bit of time working, but I didn't check the wifi situation. Bathroom is ok

Quick and friendly service. Had the maple latte and an iced coffee. Both were very good. The coffee flavor is pronounced, not overly bitter or acidic.

Excellent coffee and barista! I'd venture to say one of the top in Portland. I also bought some of their wood roasted beans to try at home. If its anywhere close to the instore quality, I'll be a regular. Kudos and don't miss it if you are on Congress nearby (not far from the Museum of Art)
Parking: Sunday parking on street is free. During the week it is diabolical to get parking on Congress Street near here.

Best coffee in Portland and I’ve tried them all. Tower shot cold brew with fruity pebble milk. One of the best cups of coffee you can get on the entire East coast.

Sumatra pour over solid - just a bit acidic more than used to for this single origin (maybe the wood fire roasting aspect)

Tepid, weak coffee served with poor attitude. Who needs that.

I visited the Thames location. The open space atmosphere was very bright and refreshing. Menu was quite particular in terms of beans origins and varieties. I had a lot of questions, but the employee helping me did not really know answers about the specifics on the board. So I just got what seemed healthy and tasty after a quick google of some details. I had the Kenya Gatina AA – washed Batian Ruru with notes of blackberry, caramel, and orange zest. It was far from my typical, and I can appreciate that the coffee was of a good quality, but my experience would've been much more enjoyable if I could've been directed to flavors more suited to my palate. Beautiful view and in an easy to find area!
