It was a cold & windy walk home when i passed by Standard Baking Co and decided a hot coffe was needed. Of course, who could pass up a cookie or brownie to go along. I decided on the Raspberry Gallette and I am now addicted!!!! I either need to find an alternate route home...or add another 2 miles to walk off the extra calories! Thank you Standard Baking Co to finding the right the right reward for me keeping my new year resolution to add more activity to my day!

I was very surprised how big it looks on the outside. Then when I went in, no tables, no rest room, and no place to wait except outside in the elements if you’re meeting somebody. It was super crowded inside. The staff was efficient, but make sure you figure out what you want while you’re standing in line.

Parking: Unless you go on a Sunday you will pay to park if you can find a spot

Kid-friendliness: No place to sit if you want to give the kids a treat and no bathroom.

Wheelchair accessibility: You can get a wheelchair or stroller in the door, but very little space inside.

Got here at 1:00 PM. So, a few things are left to choose. Go in the morning to choose what they offer. No introduction needed as this is a popular bakery in Portland. I got a croissant which is crispy and so delicious. I had a small size hot coffee and which is good too. Will come back again next time. Highly recommend.

standard baking is my new obsession. don’t let the line deter you — it moves fast. but get there early for the best selection! the olive roll & asiago ladder are a must. the gingerbread bundt will cure whatever ails you.

An amazing bakery and somewhere I always stop for baked goods when in Portland

Parking: Decent size parking lot but it is pay by plate and they do have people to enforce that, the parking on the street is also pay by plate

Wheelchair accessibility: All on ground level with no lips or steps

Insanely good bread!! Everything we tried blew our minds: the rosemary focaccia, the cranberry pecan roll, the seeded fougasse, and the granola bar (vegan). Cannot wait to come back here and try everything else.

Discovered this delightful bakery by chance as it was the only one open at 7.30am. We got some breakfast pastries which were delicious. We're definitely going back on the day we leave Portland.

Suggest that getting there early will ensure that you get what you want. We arrived before 7.30am and there was already a line of customers which is always a good indicator!

The good: As soon as you enter the establishment, you will be able to smell all of the wonderful breads, baked treats enveloping you. We went 2x during our 2 day stay and loved everything we ordered. Living in NYC you have access to some amazing bakeries, this was right up there with the best (if not better). We tried the Pain au Chocolat- flaky, buttery, chocolatey as you would expect any good "croissant" to be.
Frangipane tart- creamy and crunchy
Apple fritter pastry- which tasted like an elevated McD's apple pie and lastly the Morning Bun- which was soft & had toffee elements with the caramelized sugar.
I regret not capturing pictures of the tasty treats we consumed.

Just Ok: is the service, a little brusque but they are just busy getting the lines in and out as fast as possible.

Run don't walk if you are in the area.
