Garlic Naan is a must try. It like candy.
Chicken curry is a must try.
Spice level for non-south Indians is 3 or less than 3. For south Indians, go for 4 or 5.

This place used to be amazing but something has changed recently. I ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka masala both spicy and waited 50 minutes (was told it would be 20-30) the place was not busy, only 3 orders ahead of mine, I received 2 butter chickens both very bland with no spice and they did not include the 3 sides that they always serve with all their dishes. The new management lacks consistency

We had a wonderful dinner here after getting turned away from 4 fully-booked restaurants in Old Port. Mind you, we started out disappointed, having not been able to eat at any of the places we'd planned, but our mood was quickly reversed when we started eating the food. This place deserves a much higher rating given the delicious food and attentive service we received. The Chicken Tikka Masala was amazing and the garlic naan was pillowy and buttery deliciousness - the best I've ever had. In talking with the staff, this restaurant has recently changed hands and the new owner and chef have really turned things around. Definitely worth a visit.

All I can say is I cook Indian food at home, that’s how much I love it. And this place met all my expectations. Very evident that the owner cares about the food they serve. Absolutely recommend this spot!

My Friend and I were driving through Portland, looking for a place to have dinner, and we stumbled upon Tandoor restaurant.

We started with the Vegetarian Platter for appetizer. It was a mix of samosas and other fried items. For entree, we ordered the Paneer Makhani and the Fish Curry, with a side of Garlic Naan. I thought both were excellent and had a LOT of flavor packed in. I honestly did not expect an Indian dish in Portland to have such authentic Indian flavor.

Service was also very good.

I am not generally someone who is easily pleased with Indian food in restaurants abroad but I must say the food here is fantastic. We ordered Chicken korma, chicken Tikka, garlic Naan and aloo kulcha. Everyone was freshly made and tasted amazing. The garlic Naan is the best I have had in the US so far. The servers are very warm and courteous. A must visit place if you are looking for Indian food in Portland. The only scope for improvement is each table should have better lighting. Our table was very dimly lit. Overall, great food and great staff!

The first time we came here, we just got drinks and dessert which were delicious but all the dishes from the other tables smelled so good we had to come back. We weren't disappointed. This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had from anywhere. Rich flavors, very filling. The garlic naan is incredible. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. They are always smiling. We'll definitely come back again and again.

My wife and I ate at Tandoor today and it was a delightful culinary experience. We ate in the outside seating area which despite being slightly cramped was very nice.

We ordered Samosa, Butter Chicken (mild), and Lamb Rogan Josh (medium spicy). The chicken and lamb were excellent - perfectly cooked, tender, and infused with a rich depth of flavor. I got a Taj Mahal beer that arrived in a big 375ml bottle and served in a chilled high-ball glass. It's a great beer to complement superb food. My wife got the mango lassi and liked it a lot.

We've been to Portland five times and on this trip we ate Indian food for the first time. Given its flavorful food, good service, and friendly staff, we'll add Tandoor to our "go to restaurants" on future trips here.

The windows and doors were very dirty. They should have been cleaned with Windex. Service was very slow. The waiter forgot to bring a second order of rice. The meal with goat had many bone fragments. The butter chicken was good. Rice pudding was terrible.
