Nice British-style food. The atmosphere was really cool and the drinks were pretty strong. Not many restaurants in the area specializing in this type of food

My partner and I loved this place! We just need a break from the usual Maine seafood fare, and this English pub/cocktail bar was perfect. My partner had the shepherd’s pie with HP sauce on the server’s recommendation and it was a great topping. The tangy sauce balanced the gaminess of the lamb perfectly. I had the French onion soup, with a deep, beefy broth and focaccia pieces instead of a big crouton. It was so good, I believe I now prefer it that way.

Don’t come here if you’re looking for quick in-and-out dining. It’s a perfect laid-back spot to linger and relax, completely unrushed. We’re big gin fans and tried two cocktails we’d never had before. Both were delicious. Great food, great drinks, and a refreshing alternative to the seafood-heavy menus around town. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in town.

Went in a guess at a late for Portland time and we're welcomed by a friendly staff. We ate at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. Food was really good so we're the drinks and the ambiance was really nice.
I'll be looking to return here during my next visit to Portland.

Food was good but portions are very small for the cost. Very loud, but has a fun environment.

If you’re looking for a night dipped in moonlight and stirred with a little enchantment, look no further than The Continental — and most importantly, find Mike behind the bar.

Mike isn’t just a bartender; he’s a vibe curator, and somehow part wizard. From the moment he greeted me with that warm, mischievous smile, the night took on a kind of sparkle you can’t quite put into words. He knew exactly what we wanted— it was like he read our spirits as well as he served them. Every offering was a masterpiece, balanced and magical, and every interaction left me feeling seen, celebrated, and just a little bit lighter.

The view from the window is unreal — stars overhead, city lights twinkling below, trains passing by and laughter echoing through the breeze — but it was Mike who truly made it unforgettable. His energy, his charm, his wit, his vibes and his effortless way of making everyone feel like the main character… pure Continental magic.

I came for food, stayed for the hospitality and left with full hearts and a little stardust in our hair. 🌙🍸

I absolutely love the decor, the giant Western Facing panoramic glass at the front of the restaurant, and views to the bar and kitchen from almost any seat.

We felt waited on very well. Cant emphasize how nice the folks are that work there. Bibb salad dressing has the most unique and rewarding flavor. French onion soup was delish and bangers and mashed out performed. Gave 5 stars on food and would like to see a few additional options on the menu but not a complaint.

Bloody Marys were below market price and above market flavor!

Enjoyed it here tremendously!

Great British dishes, went perfectly with a glass of lager. We weren't charged for a salad that was missing a chicken add-on, that's AFTER we said we were quite happy with it as is. Good people here.

2's all the way. Cocktails were bland. Food was bland. Im biased because I hate places that don't take the tails off of the shrimp before serving (I got the shrimp scampi). I don't want to get my hands all gross pulling them off myself. The waiter was rude and didn't care at all. Made faces as if judging us while ordering and tossed the check with our cards back at us without saying a word. Lastly, good luck parking because the lot is tiny.

Food was amazing. We had a baby with us and they did not have anything to place the baby carrier on. Needs some blinds lots of people using their hands to block the sun while eating

Delicious scotch egg, really reasonable late night specials, and above-and-beyond service! With the ever-changing Portland food scene, I hope the Continental is here to stay!

A good blend of new interior and classic pub feeling on the interior. Killer Shepards Pie and chips with curry sauce. Cocktail list is on point. 11/10 would recommend.
