Dinner & drinks were delicious and our servers were so very kind. We had the boxty, steak, & shepherd's pie. Super cozy atmosphere, it was so lovely and inviting with the sun streaming in on a lazy afternoon.

Our 1st time in, and we really enjoyed our meals. Fish and Chips were excellent, and the portion size was on the larger size. My wife had the bangers and mash, which was another decent plate. We loved the interior, and the service was just right. Thank you for my ice-cold moosehead beer, too!

Decor and bar are beautiful. Owner was nice and attentive. Happy to find lambs lollipops on the menu and non alcoholic beer. Onion soup was a little unseasoned for my taste but I will definitely come back to give an other shot.

As usual food was amazing, onion soup was delish! So was the vegetable curry, which my husband loved! However the service was lackluster at best. I can not eat much due to health issues, so I asked for a to go container so I could finish at home and was told I could not bring my soup home as they don’t have take out containers. So I ended up leaving 2/3rds of my meal behind which was a waste of money. I have never been to a restaurant where I could not do to go containers and always order French onion soup, so was rather disappointed

The Continental Portland is a fabulous little find on Brighton Avenue in Portland Maine. This eclectic restaurant with European Flare of the British Pub! Food is amazing from the Roasted Cod to the fish and chips with a Boxy appetizer, this place hits the mark. Accompany the meal with a traditional Guinness on tap or a Jameson on the rocks, this English style pub has you asking for more!

I've been to the Continental twice and had an excellent experience both times. First was lunch and I had delicious French onion soup, salad, and the best pour of Guinness I've ever been served! We returned today for brunch and I had a grilled chicken sandwich and of course another perfect pint of Guinness. I typically don't go for grilled chicken because it's boring, but the buttery grilled bread, tarragon mayo, and pickles really brought the sandwich together. The fries were also cooked perfectly. The best part of the Continental is the amazing service! The owner/bartender really makes it a great experience. The Press Herald review was BS! The Continental rules and I hope it's successful in its first year!

The food is really top quality. Some of the best fish and chips I've had, really flaky and golden crispy outside.Excellent cocktails and a good selection of European beers and local ones.Very nice outside lots of parking.Kind of a hidden gem that's really worth checking out. Really glad they moved into the neighborhood we don't have too many options and this is a fun new one.Definitely worth giving a try.

In had lunch here yesterday with two friends- very warm, charming atmosphere- had French Onion Spiod which was delicious -one of my companions had the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato-the sandwich was huge and delightful- I was jealous- not something I would order out usually but would again in the future- the service was very attentive - definitely will go again- my only complaint is the menu is very small- a few additions would be welcome
Bad value, good bartender, weird atmosphere
