We had a great time!! Julio was a wonderful server and the bar tender was phenomenal!! The espresso martini made by “the Irishman” was the best I’ve ever had. Wonderful dinner!

Updated 9-2-25. The worst service I could imagine. If Sean is the waiter I recommend respectfully heading elsewhere. He will focus on upsells with 10x the care of getting you your food and making sure it's accurate. As a regular, it's quite unfortunate that they allow staff that has zero interest in the customer. He is the exception as I have experienced.
He also doctored the receipt to add an additional tip since I tipped less than is customary due to the horrible service. I may try it again if he is no longer employed there.

The food and service were incredible! Muscles, tomahawk steak, lobster mashed potatoes, asparagus and crème brûlée outstanding. Chef Alana and crew crew crushed it! Can't wait to go back.
Our server Sean was amazing!! We both got ribeyes and they did not disappoint. We will be back!
I'm often disappointed by the quality of steaks at "local" steakhouses. They so often disappoint. However, that was far from the case at the Grill Room & Bar. Our steaks were thick, tasty, and cooked to true perfection. The portions were enormous, flavorful, and creative. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely will return when we come back to Portland.
Don't let them sit you near the door in the winter. Some in our party had to wear our coats throughout dinner because of the draft coming through the window next to the door.
Was there Saturday night, sat at chefs table and it was great. The young waiter was excellent, the steaks were perfect and for a steakhouse the portions are huge .. I highly recommend the oysters, filet and Brussel sprouts ,although the salads looked amazing.
Service was great. Our server's name was Colby. He did an amazing job taking care of us. 5 stars everyday. Food was awesome too. I got the scallops and they were amazing.
Claire took very good care of us. We were very appreciative of the restaurant holding the table for us as we got caught in traffic due to an accident and were ~20 minutes late. Food was excellent and we look forward to coming back soon.
One section of table are uncomfortably close together. We unfortunately were in that section. Food was Greta as always as was the staff

Overall, a superior experience (as we've come to expect from The Grill Room). Cocktails and food were excellent. We'll be back!!
After previously visiting The Grill Room, I went to express my happiness on the occasion and stumbled upon a previous rating on the same day. I’m ashamed of guests that feel the need to not only have such high, and literally inexperienced expectations that they feel the need to tarnish an employee’s and an amazing establishment’s reputation just to feel the need to complain. That night, sitting at the bar, I experienced nothing but professionalism. And further more, bring your readers and stop trying to nickel and dime such a prestigious restaurant.

I don’t write reviews often. But I want to give a shout out to the Rooms — high-quality food; great atmospheres; and attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staffs. That proved true again last week when we visited the Grill Room, sat at the bar, snd welcomed warmly. We couldn’t have asked for more responsive and friendly bartenders and the food (steak tips, other apps, and drinks) were awesome. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Highly recommend.

My cousin and I met for drinks and oysters and were able to find two seats at the bar—off to a great start. One of the bartenders, an older gentleman with an Irish accent (I apologize that I did not get his name), was very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, our experience with the other bartender, a younger gentleman who was working bar service on December 3, was less pleasant.
Before my cousin arrived, I asked if there was a drink menu I could look at. His response felt snotty and dismissive, as though my request was unreasonable. It felt as if once it was clear that we were only ordering drinks and oysters, we were no longer a priority. While the older bartender was friendly, the filthy vodka martini I ordered had very little olive juice. I asked for more twice, which was not a major issue, but it was surprising.
It was happy hour, and we ordered from the happy hour menu. When it came time to pay, I attempted to use a $50 Seize the Deal gift certificate. The younger bartender quickly and curtly informed me that it could not be used on discounted items. While I understand this after reviewing the fine print, his delivery came across as rude. I did mention that the wording on the gift certificate could perhaps be clearer, but I recognize that is not his responsibility.
Both my cousin and I found his demeanor off-putting. We are easy to please and were simply hoping to enjoy a couple of drinks and oysters. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed, which is not how I am accustomed to feeling after a visit to the Grill Room.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback.

Excellent food. I was very excited to have a popover. We both gott he filet. Mashed and garlic spinach. Drinks were also made well. Everything was delicious. Cooked as ordered. Also sat at the bar to watch the cooks do their magic.
