Food was good, we dined in the bubble, great fun but definitely not warm (it was 19d out) and unfortunately the view was of construction but the server was nice and it was great to get out in a covid safe way!
The Yard had burger specials on Super Bowl Sunday, so we thought we'd try it out. Bar atmosphere. Burgers were too greasy. Not many other alternatives on the menu. The fries were great though. This would be a great place to meet friends and have drinks, not to dine.
Limited food menu the day we stopped in but the food came out quickly and was fine. Server was quick and friendly so no concerns there. The beer was pricey ($10 for Lunch IPA) and it was served in a plastic mug. At that price, it should be served in glassware IMHO. We sat inside but the the outdoor heated igloos seemed like a fun way to go.
We had a niceevening, and I'm sure it would have been better if it had not been Christmas eve.For every good aspect, there was also a not so good one. Nothing was outright bad, but so many things could have been better. Our reservation for a dome was made for 6pm, but when we arrived we were told the kitchen was closing at 6pm, so we had to rush or food choices and after we did, it took quite a while for the food to arrive (especially with so little customers). The food was mostly very good, except for two burgers being kind of dry and more bland then expected. The drinks were excellent and not too overpriced though. The atmosphere was beautiful, with nice amenities (Bluetooth speaker, good wifi, blankets, a heater)...but the heater didn't warm the whole area completely and the table was very small and positioned too far from the seating. It was more like a coffee table. Very difficult for a group of six to eat at.The staff was very friendly and and did their jobs well in the cold. All the respect for them.Overall, our visit was good, but could have been great. Definitely going to visit again on an evening that isn't a winter holiday.
The brisket burger with blueberry BBQ sauce was delicious and the cocktails ? were stella. This restaurant has a nice trendy/cozy feeling where you'd easily forget about the clock during your visit. I will be returning!
We had appetizers and a burger while listening to the one man band. Nice option to have for a night out. The igloos were all full, but those look like a neat experience if you can book one!
I'm not one to leave a review. Especially a bad one. But our experience was so bad that we felt a need to let the community know what a terribly run place this is. The Yard isn't even deserving of one star. The service was so bad it was almost comical. We waited a solid 45 minutes for a beer. And then it took an hour for our food to come out cold and barely edible. The table next to us was overcharged and the management tried to argue with them before admitting to their mistake. How this place remains to stay in business is absolutely dumbfounding. We should have known better by the lack of customers while the restaurant (Wilson's BBQ) next door was jam packed. There are so many better options in Portland for better food and drinks from businesses that will appreciate your patronage. And to top it off, not one staff member, server, waitress, bartender, management or cook was wearing a mask. Don't waste your time, money or life.
This place is amazing and the staff is even better!!! I went to the yard last night for my 21st birthday. The drinks are amazing! I got the G.O.A.T. smash burger and I’m not kidding when I say it’s the best burger I’ve ever had!!!! The bar and the drinks are very unique! Instead of having a white claw or truly they will do you one better with Apres Made in Maine. We got the tangerine seltzer and it makes you feel like you are literally biting into the freshest tangerine you’ve ever had. Our bartender Brandon was such a big help and giving us great recommendations on where to go next and we had the best night thanks to him! The chef was so fun to talk to and you could tell that he is so into his work and it definitely shows. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in Portland!
I honestly didn't even want to pay my bill. Food and drinks were absolutely disgusting. My martini was like half full and my husbands mojito tasted like a disgusting mint syrup. The music was so loud you couldn't even hear the person next to you. I understand everywhere is short staffed as I am also in the service industry but I don't feel being short staffed was the issue. It seemed like the over all quality of the food and drinks was the real issue.
The burgers are amazing I had the burger with blueberries ?sounds weird I know but def a must try might I add my date and I had the chance to test out the new upcoming #bloodymary ? our server was amazing as well as the rest of the staff . They even mentioned igloos on the rooftop for the winter we will definitely be back

The food and drinks were definitely worth the drive. We drove an hour to get there on the recommendations of a friend to check it out. We tried a little bit of everything and were not disappointed! With all thats going on with shortages staff wise, they seemed to have plenty and were very attentive.Hard to find these days!! Thanks for the great experience. Date night was a success!! Great job
1st time here I'm from north Carolina ordered a truffle mushroom smash burger with fries have to say I give it 5 stars best burger I ever had and fries were to perfection and it's me and my husbands 2 year anniversary.
It’s very rare that you get a perfect smashed burger with a nice crust to give it some texture and depth of flavor and this place absolutely delivers. Extremely blown away with the food. I’d give 10 stars if I could
Best burger joint in Portland. Highly recommend the Firey Smash Burger ?
