Awesome place, got the pork plate and it touched all the right places. 10/10 staff and food. Highly recommend.

Best fried chicken sandwiches (my husband gets) and best fried chicken platters and biscuits I’ve had. The service is always quick and I like the easy atmosphere. We developed a tradition of going here when we lost power in the winter at home and it’s filled with good memories for us, we ended up having our small post wedding ceremony celebration here, no reservations. It went so incredibly well and made for even more good memories! Definitely check this place out!

Delicious! Food was really good, and you can't beat a $3 High Life. Bar was really slow/ quiet on a Thursday, which was nice, but had to flag someone down a couple of times. A little annoying but not a huge deal. The place is clean and on theme (love a good theme) but it could get echo-y fast with a big crowd

I’ll begin by saying that this was the first BBQ place i sat down and ate in since moving up here from TX. I love their chicken sandwich and their biscuits. However, i’m getting on here to brag about their cauliflower buffalo bites. It might be just me but they are SO GOOD. The cauliflower seemed fresh not frozen, the buffalo sauce was 12/10, and i think i found my new regular thing. I’ll be thinking about these cauliflowers until next time. They also have a cute lil patio for when you want to sit with your pup and share some ribs.

Portland, Maine has hit a home run with Pit Smoke BBQ.
The burnt ends might be the best I’ve ever had, sweet, tangy, and perfectly cooked. Honestly, you could just keep ordering plate after plate of them and never get tired.
The fried pickles? Easily some of the best I’ve tried anywhere.
The atmosphere is fantastic, with a phenomenal outdoor patio that’s both fun and comfortable. But my favorite spot is the bar, great vibe and a perfect place to settle in.
I also have to give a shoutout to the staff. The service is top-notch, and Todd, in particular, is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to navigating the menu.

The food looks better in the photos than it taste. A bit overpriced for the quality — $35 for baby back ribs with two sides. The rub on them was just okay. You order at the counter and then wait for your food. It took a while for our food to be ready even though they weren’t too busy. The atmosphere was nice with indoor and outdoor seating. But, if you’re looking for great BBQ I would look elsewhere.

All I can say is WOW. No frills here. Ordered the shrimp platter. Comes with TEN HUGE fried shrimp, two sides and a choice of hush puppies or biscuit. $20 for all of this. Easily the best $20 I’ve ever spent.
This place is not your average restaurant, it is a seat yourself place. You go up to the counter and order, and then wait for and grab your food. Personally I really loved this aspect of the restaurant. It created an air of causality and a laid back atmosphere.
The man who took our order was extremely friendly and asked about our weekend plans. He seemed truly happy to serve us.
For reference, we came at noon on a friday and plenty of tables were open.
Some parking is available in the back but don’t rely on having a spot.
This place is definitely a must try and I will be back!

Rude, unpleasant, and immature service with an undercurrent of aggression. The bartender was perhaps the most disrespectful person we’ve ever met. There were three groups waiting in line to order for about 15 minutes when a young woman walks in the door. We were next in line and my son makes eye contact with the bartender. Instead of helping us, he calls over the woman at the back of the line and proceeds to take her order. We walk over to note that we were in line first and before we get the words out of our mouth the bartender loudly tells us to “chill out”. We gently explained that it would have been polite to take the customers in order and he rolls his eyes and tells us essentially to shut up and he can take our order now. We start to order and he pulls a juvenile joke given the situation that he’s closed and we should go back to the other register.
From there it just went downhill with every exchange dripping with sarcasm. Eventually it was my conflict-avoidant teenage son who says we should leave because of the rudeness. My son called it…he said it was passive aggressive behavior masking real aggression underneath. I agree, but not before asking to talk to the manager. He proceeds to make excuses about how understaffed they are and rudely asks: “what do you want me to do about it?”
To top it all off, another guy walks over aggressively to get involved who turns out to be an off duty team member. As we leave they all sarcastically bid us goodbye
