This place is a bar that serves food, it is not a barbeque restaraunt. The "dining area" was so crowded and the tables so closely packed together we kept getting bumped during the entire process to iclude while seated to eat. It was so loud that we couldnt carry on a conversation across the table. There is no service to review as it is counter service and they text you to come get your drinks and or food and then you get the pleasure of clearing your own table.Unseasoned pulled pork, ribs and collards that were awash in vinegar to the point of being inedible, mac and cheese that was gluey and tasted of uncooked flour. This food misses the mark on every concievable level. Actually, we enjoyed the biscuits and honey butter so there's a positive.I have eaten better barbecue well, almost everywhere. First visit, last visit.....extremely dissapointing.

Second time here and the food was as amazing as it was the first time. 4 stars for service bc you have to wait on yourself. Once you order (from the pretty rude) dude behind the counter, you pick up your food and drink, bus and clean your table. Definitely not a fan of this concept especially when paying over $20 for entree. Food and atmosphere spectacular so I'll come back. Note to rudedude: Hey, in the hospitality business, you need to be respectful and smile at the very least.

Food was delicious!! Pork belly burnt ends and crispy ribs appetizers were amazing! Pulled pork has some vinegar and spice! Spice pickles were a nice treat!

Decent barbeque at okay prices. Some dishes are very good (e.g. shrimp and grits, fried chicken) and some leave a bit to be desired (pulled pork, biscuits). The atmosphere is appealing with a seat yourself setup and ordering at the counter allowing for a nice place to have medium to large groups. Especially if they want to have time to catch up, watch sports, or play some games.Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options, especially in main dishes - but kind of expected for a bbq place

Friendly staff, good drinks. We were not having lunch so will have to go back to try the barbeque. Hushpuppies were fine though. Chopped salad is to die for!

Got the two piece chicken and it was pretty dry and rubbery in parts. The skin was also kinda thin. Second piece was a wing that was like 75% bone, little meat. Hushpuppies were pretty dry/bland as well. The stars are bc the sides were good - I got slaw and tasted my friends Mac n cheese which was tasty. Her pulled pork sandwich was also amazing. Just feel like for $16 I could’ve gotten better chicken at Popeyes. Might be back but would order something different.

We lived in Memphis for six years, but this is pretty darn good BBQ! Good portions, friendly people and the food is great! My wife’s pimento cheese on a biscuit was by far the best she’s had.

Was hoping for a better experience. My ribs tasted as if several days old & they were extremely dry as if they'd been reheated multiple times. Their sauce had a strongly sharp vinegar base; not my preference. However, the hushpuppies & slaw were good; the collards mediocre. They could've used more seasoning to reduce the musky taste. On the bright side, my companion had the fried shrimp which were beautifully cooked & quite tasty. She also had the fried pickles which we both liked, but she was annoyed that some pickled jalapeños were mixed in & she was taken aback as she doesn't like very spicy food. There should be a warning on the menu. The atmosphere is stark & bare & the service non-existent as u order from the counter & are asked to pick up food when ready & bus your own tables & get your own drinks. Like going to Mickey D's for BBQ. Not great.

I moved to New England from N.C. about a year ago. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place. The food and service was amazing. They represent Wilson well…it’s like eating at a modern Parker’s.

Being both a chef and from North Carolina, I had very high expectations...and Wilson County BBQ delivered! The 1st bite of the pulled pork took me eight back to my days growing up in NC. The hush puppies and biscuit were other highlights that brought me back to my younger years. Baked beans and Mac and cheese also great, along with the chicken and waffles and pork belly bites! The only thing I would do differently is the sauce on the ribs. The ribs themselves were cooked to perfection, but the sauce used on them really overpowered the flavor of the pork. I think the Carolina Gold sauce would have been a better choice. That is honestly my only criticism of the food itself. It was 100% on point otherwise. The chefs, baker, staff, and owner should be very happy with the quality of food and service! It will be a regular stop for me for now on now that I finally found this gem!!!

Went in for lunch. Great food. The service is mostly self serve. When the meal is ready you go get it and when done, you bus your own table. Not a negitive at all. It gave me a chance to meet the chef and his crew. They are right there to talk to. Great people and it shows in their food. I would really recommend stopping by.
