Went to Zephyr ice for the first time last night after a Mariner’s game. Honestly I’m so sad I didn’t find this place sooner! It’s so good, a bit overwhelming at first with all the choices, but between the 5 of us in our party, each combo we had was uniquely perfect! I can’t wait to go back and try something else!!!
I had visited Hawaii once and was craving Hawaiin shave ice when I went to Google where the closest place I could get one and living in a remote town I was SHOOK to see there was Zephyr Ice in Portland. We drove up from Boothbay to check this spot out and boy did it hit!

We’ve got family on Maui and have been there almost 30 times over the past 15 years, so you can say we’re pretty serious about our shave ice. It’s super rare to find anything close to the real deal outside of the islands, but we just found a spot in Portland, Maine (yes, Maine!) that might actually be better than some of our favorites in Hawaii.
