This was one of the first places we ate when we moved to the area, and haven't been back. The food was really bland and had very little thought to it. The margaritas were so sweet I couldn't drink them. The atmosphere is cool and service people were nice, but I'd be hard pressed to go back.

The food is authentic and delicious. We haven't had such tasty Mexican food since returning from our trip to the Yucatan in 2005! Do yourself a favor and try this little gem. The service was fantastic, too. If you happen to be gluten-free, as I am, there are delicious options for you.
Wheelchair accessibility: The ramp is long if you are in a manual chair. It is easy to push up, and I did without need of assistance. The right side of the restaurant is booths and a counter. The left side has the traditional tables. The hostess took a chair away for me without needing to be asked. How refreshing!

I was blown away with the quality of the food and the service at this establishment. The diner atmosphere/decor and friendly service make A La Mexicana a wonderful choice for a special dinner or just grabbing a quick bite to go. I will definitely be back.

A few years ago someone told me to go here when I was lamenting the lack of decent Mexican food in Maine. Forgot about it but showed up as a saved place on my maps when we were in the area. Great food and service. Awesome fresh guac and salsa. Legit Mexican food. Worth a trip.

Went there for lunch with friends. Everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. The outside looks like a 50's diner and the inside as well. Touches of Mexican flair with large sombreros and some Spanish pictures.

Food was pretty good especially being from Cali. This is the ONLY place that would allow us to order ahead of time and take the food to go. We called 3 other places and they would not do take out. So glad we found this place. The food was great.
