I went here ONCE in the almost 10 years I've lived in Mid-coast Maine, several years ago, so not during the pandemic. Waaaay too tiny, crowded, hectic, old, and dilapidated. I felt like I was just in the way. I go past it all the time, but the experience was so bad I never went again. More Maine business owners need to get out and travel to southern New England and the NY area to get a feel for the atmosphere that's expected from businesses these days. And if you can't get workers, change your business model. Streamline, automate more, take out all the crap and simplify. Now it's going out of business and they're shocked, shocked! I'm not.
I feel bad, but dining here was a big disappointment. They’ve had good reviews, and I’d been there before so thought we’d go again. Food was inedible. Terribly cooked. It was embarrassing for the restaurant, but they didn’t seem aware. If closing because of lack of help, I agree it needs to be done. I feel I wasted my money.
I've never had a worse experience. Food was unedible, service was horrible, wait time was disappointing. Never again.
We went to Cafe Miranda twice during our visit to Maine. Arugula and Beet salad was delicious with lots a flavor. Asked for vegetables and a side of black beans salsa- Zach made it happen. Refilled our fresh lemonade. My husband had the pasta chicken. Spices and crispy made it a win-win wonderful experience at dinner. Highly recommend for vegetarians too. Atmosphere happy and warm!!
Im shocked this place ranking so high out of Rockland s restaurants. Very diverse menu but it sounds much better then it tastes. We were visiting from NYC area. Overpriced, pierogies with bacon $27.50, ridiculous- not even hand made, looked like Mr T pierogies - just a shame, waitress actually said " I' ve been telling them to keep it off menu ". Vlad Poutine $15, warm in center, cold outside - tasted like something you ll buy at the carnival stand, again ridiculous price for what it was. Mole'd pork - sides were good, pork itself poor quality cut, dry. Mussels in white wine broth - delish. Foccacia bread given to the table was cold, we asked to warm it up - waitress said " we don't do that ". It's a tiny place, so after 5pm ppl started to gather inside to wait for the table - it was awkward to enjoy the place sitting amongst standing ppl. Also we were poured 2 diffrent merlos - yet on bill was same wine. Again waitress had no explanation how that happened or did anything about it. But overall service was good - hopeless kind of. Would not recommend this place. If you want really good food, worth the price, fresh quality cuts, plated with finesse, sitting in the beautiful setting with 6ft apart tables- Samoset Resort italian restaurant is a must try, over 4 days stay we ate there 5 days. Surf and turf, halibut, eggs benedict, calamari, burger, pizetta were absolutely delicious, affordable and we received 5 star service.
Was just okay. Some cool menu options and a neat vibe, but ended up coming in for a late lunch and waited nearly an hour for the pork sandwich, and it was super under-seasoned. Neither the food quality nor the service seemed worth the price.
If you want to eat really yummy food - that’s the place to be! Already while reading the menu I was impressed and full of pleasant anticipation! ?? My favorites so far: Curry mussels and the pasta with scallops and prosciutto! Incredibly delicious, I wanted to bath in it! ? My only problem: already the bread was so good that I dipped it in olive oil as a start and later into the mussel broth…Lucky me I got the rest of my plate packed up to take home, otherwise I would have needed another stomach ?
We went for my wife's birthday. We were told they were out of many different things (most of the menu actually). So we both ordered something that would not have been our first choices. Both were not just bland, they were bad. We have been to this place before and noticed it is not to the same standards it once was. It will be a long time before we choose this place again.
My partner and I went to Cafe Miranda for the first time, to celebrate our 5th anniversary. The Cafe was still offering exclusively outdoor seating, which was perfect for two Covid-cautious celebrants. The headline: the food was super and it was extremely cold outside! The fire pits gave out smoke and little heat, and the woodburning stove gave out neither. However, we're very grateful for Cafe Miranda and for the option to eat outdoors in December in Maine. And now, the food. I had the deconstructed nachos and the vegetable thang. My partner had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything was super, and the portions were large enough that we took food home and had enough food for dinner. And the homemade bread was an unexpected plus that we enjoyed during and after our meal.Bottom line: we'd return here any time of the year to eat outdoors. And did I mention that we brought our dogs, who loved the experience?
We were looking for a place to eat in Rockland. We had stopped to check out a Cafe but it was packed. Then we smelled burning wood and saw what looked like a food trailer down an alley. We figured why not. We found a bunch of fire pits and some tables outside near the food trailer. They had a large menu with some awesome looking brunch items. They also had some interesting mixed drinks. So we ordered some brunch and had a seat at a table by a fire pit. The food was outstanding and the service couldn't have been better. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I can't say enough good things about this place.

We had the poutine and the Apple and Cheddar pizza. Soo amazing. Delicious isn’t enough to explain how good it was. We sat outside next to the fire under the string lights…such a great atmosphere. Loved it all!
We came here after a visit to the Farnsworth Museum. It was late in the day and the sun was going to be setting shortly. Though not really late in the day as here in Maine the sunsets at about 4:15 PM anyway we were pleasantly surprised they were fire pits set up around a wonderful food truck where you could place your order and get your beverages. It was really nice to eat outside right by a friendly warm fire. We went with appetizers which were simply out of this world. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our beverages were outstanding my bride had some kind of tea with some kind of alcohol in it I had coffee that had whip cream and Kahlúa and was out of this world I believe it was called Keoki coffee. All in all it was a great experience and if they open to inside dining we will come back. If not dining outside here is really very pleasant and enjoyable even in mid fall.
Nice place - go up to the truck and place your order and pay then grab a table and they bring the food over to you. Prices seemed a little high, but they are comparable for the area. The food was delicious, and the portions were a great size to fuel up for walking around town.
My favorite place in Rockland and they are doing outdoor dining right.
Cafe Miranda was nice. I had the arugula salad, my partner the hoagie. The food truck outside took your order, give you a number and you sit at either the outside tables or benches around numerous fire pits (no indoor dining). It was a crisp autumn night but it was lovely and toasty by the fires. If you're okay with "roughing it" outside, you'll be fine.
