“absolutely awesome food. Just went there for my first time last night and wow the food is absolutely top notch. They grow their own vegetables and source most if not all of everything else locally from what I gather. Not only is the food absolutely stellar, but the place has a lot of seating, inside and out. 10/10 would reccomend”

“Sooooo yummy. The taste of the tacos are so alive with flavor! Cute little taco stand with a small courtyard of tables on a Main Street corner in downtown Rockland. It's shaded, so good in the summer.”

“Me and my husband come here again and again, and every time it is beyond delicious.
The chef and owner is the most incredible woman, her hands are magic because watching her put together these thoughtful dishes- beautifully, while making it look easy and doing 1000 things at once. The food is incredible every time we come! We leave stuffed and happy. I had a pasta dish that brought near tears to my eyes.
The staff are attentive and you are always greeted with a smile and kindness. The ambiance and setting is tasteful and charming alike. I would recommend this to anyone in Maine or in the Rockland area! We drive 40 minutes each way just to come to have dinner here any time we are in Maine! We thoroughly enjoy our dates here!
Thank you so much In Good Company! We will ALWAYS come back ❤️”

“This place was a classic, in demand hot dog right off Main Street driving through Rockland South on Route1. Menu classic hot dogs on a bun with a variety of fixings. Short wait in a seemingly continuously filled order line from locals. Attractive, interesting big sign "Wasses" over the hot dog shack. So it must be good and it was! Basic includes mustard, relish, and onions. I bought one of those for $3.50 and one with sauerkraut and mustard for $4.00. Ice cold soda for $1.50. Quick and easy. The lady and here small crew inside were very pleasant and well organized. Take away to eat in your car, a couple picnic tables nearby, or an adjacent bench just past the order line. Very popular for locals and for drivebys like me!
Parking: Right off Main Street. Will see the big "Wasses" sign right off the road when traveling south on Rte 1.”

“Housed inside an old train station, Trackside offers typical pub grub at high tops, a few booths, or at the bar. They also have outdoor seating. Substantial portions and reasonable prices make this a good stop for vacationers exploring the Rockland area.”

“Birthdays are big at our house. And finding the perfect birthday cake is important. When I went gluten free this winter, I was sure I was doomed to mediocre gluten free birthday cakes for my future. BUT then we found Home Kitchen Bakery! They created a deliciously moist chocolate cake that rivals any gluten-based delight I have had in the past! My husband likes to say that they saved birthdays for me! Great work! Yum! Highly recommend!”

“Our group of 4 had a mixed experience at Sammy's. Perhaps we're to blame for our expectations, but it might be helpful to be better prepared to make sure this place matches your preferences.
First, some attributes that are not for everyone. The vibe is what I'll call funky-disheveled. Plastic table covers, empty wine bottles on the window ledge (deliberate, I hope), yard-sale lighting, and a ceiling fan/light combo from the bottom shelf of a big box store. This might be a curated aesthetic, but I couldn't really tell. It was an interesting vibe, but one which we older folks were not quite expecting. A real eclectic mix of patrons (in a positive way).
The music may have been a playlist or vinyl. We found the music (1960s jazz) to be distinctive and at just the right volume to not be distracting and allow conversation without having to raise a voice.
We were annoyed by the QR code menus. I hadn't seen that in quite a while. A table next to us had to have a large chalkboard brought over where they were struggling with cell phone flash lights to read what was written on the board. Oh well....
We might have gotten unlucky with the server who, while maintaining a pleasant demeanor, was confoundingly unhelpful. It seemed like we were speaking completely different languages. Perhaps we were partly to blame, but after each encounter, we all looked at each other with "what just happened?" expressions.
Despite (I think) telling us how to order so that our plates would be properly sequenced, they were not. I wish we had just been told that plates come out when prepared regardless of what you ordered, so don't wait for everyone else in your party to get their plates before you begin eating. Or don't expect the bread to come out until after you finish your first small plate. Or don't expect your oysters to come out until after you finish your mussels....
Our group of 4 all got the Mezcal Margaritas, which were very disappointing. Coarse salt on the rim, sour-dominated flavor profile, and no smokiness to the alcohol. Either too little mezcal, or we got a splash of tequila instead of mezcal. Since we all got the same drink, perhaps we were unlucky to have ordered the one disappointing cocktail.
OK, now let's get to the food. I thought it was excellent. The mussels were like a ceviche in a citrus, onion and cucumber marinade. I loved it. After a long confusing conversation, we got the brown bread and sourdough. Our server could not communicate the portion sizes when we ordered, but the bread order would properly satisfy two patrons.
The brown bread is excellent, slightly crispy/crunchy in texture (corn meal?), raisins, molasses.. wonderful. I would have eaten every bite put in front of me. Lightly sweet without being cloying. The sourdough was not what we were expecting. Thick slices of tight-crumb moist bread didn't have much hint of fermentation. It is from Brazen Baking in Rockport, and looked nothing like the photo on the online menu.
Get the melon and eel bisque, which was also really good... creative and a delight. The Little Gem salad was also praised. The dozen oysters were not as well chilled as I prefer, but were good.
The eggplant cutlet with trumpet mushrooms was reported to be excellent by my party, although at $32, seems priced high for this entree. My Sammy's Cheeseburger was everything it was described to be, and was very satisfying at an appropriate price point. The swordfish dish ($34) was reported to be very good. The busiati (pasta) dish was very disappointing, lacking flavor. The $27 price is wildly too high for what it is.
So our experience was mixed and could have been better. We wanted to like Sammy's much more than we actually did. But your experience may be vastly different than ours was if you get a different s”

“After looking for a place to have a surprise birthday celebration, I decided on Mulligans. It is central to most everything that is in Rockland and Camden and allowed our guests from out of town to enjoy everything in between. The food was spectacular, (I don't use that word lightly). I had a catered lobster bake and the Owner, Chef and Staff, went above and beyond to accommodate any and all requests. Local craft brewed beer on tap, local wines and local craft distillates were all available to showcase MidCoast Maine. If you are looking for a special place for that special occasion, this is it!”

“Before arriving I wanted to try the Chicken Parmigiana sandwich, but after asking the gentleman taking my order what is best, I took his recommendation and went with the Meatball Parmigiana. I know I chose correctly! It was delicious and even my Italian wife approved of the tomato sauce’s authenticity - tasted like tomatoes and not sugar. It was well priced too. I would love to try more of their food, and if I lived here I’d be a regular.”

“Loved it! We got 2 baguettes, 2 eclairs, carrot cake, and cheesecake. It was delicious! My Grandpa doesn’t eat much, but he scarfed down the carrot cake! Personally, I had an eclair and it was so good; the filling wasn’t too sweet and the dark chocolate coating added a bitterness that allowed ✨perfection✨ in my mouth ?”

“Leslie is there!! The local legend Todd, is there. (He's been bar tending in Rockkand for over 20 years. I refuse to tell you how I know this?)
I didn't rate the food because I go there to drink. I have had a snack here and there, and it was delicious, but not a meal, so I'm not qualified to rate it, so I won't.
We can't forget about Casidy! She's so bubbly and sweet! She makes you feel at home with the gruff, high pitched voice. ALWAYS has a smile that just melts your heart ❤️.
My family was up visiting from Virginia, and I made them come here.
This is the classic American "dive bar" (I say that in the most complimentary, respectful way), which is a MUST visit.”
“Our first time at the brewery- Halloween night- we enjoyed a several great beers* and had fun listening to live music while checking out people’s costumes. The place felt comfortable & roomy despite the large number of people. I didn’t eat but the food looked and smelled tasty. Like most Midcoast experiences in Maine, it’s not perfect- but the employees are very nice & working hard, the patrons were friendly, and it was authentic. We’re all lucky to have this place in Rockland.”

“We took my sister out to eat for her birthday. We ordered 2 buckets.. seafood platter. Food was excellent! Servers were great. Even took pictures of us for me. Everyone was so polite and very fun. Food was served hot and tasted amazing. Best seafood place I've been to so far. Highly recommended. Even if prices were high, the food was well worth the 2 and half hour drive! Thank you all! 10 stars if I could give it to you.”

“Visited here while on vacation and all the food was delicious and loved the location close to the coast, but was very disappointed by the service. The waiter was grumpy, slow, and just seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else. It took forever to get our food and get cashed out, but the food was so good that it still deserves 4 starts IMO.”
