We stopped for lunch on our way from Machias to Portland. The food was delicious, with generous portions, and served quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great food and a very friendly staff! I had an amazing clam chowder, sandwich, and cookie. Definitely would recommend going here for a relaxed lunch.

The quality of sandwiches has gone down a lot in the last couple years. We keep trying because it's hit or miss, and we like to support our local downtown in the off-season, but last time our reuben was bread, a little meat and almost no slaw or dressing. Really disappointing when you pay $28 for two sandwiches.

Love the food here. Nothing is bad. I usually get a salad and try and call ahead if possible as they’re busy, especially summers and weekends year round. Would love to know the recipe for their salad dressing, so delicious!

The clam chowder was outstanding - one of the best I've had in Maine! The pastrami sandwich was excellent - lots of lean meat and delicious bread. The staff was polite and attentive.

We (a group of 4) stopped in to grab lunch. It was crowded and all the seats were taken. I will say there was a cruise ship (which we were on) in town. Order was taken quickly and we waited for our food. I found a place to sit in the shade just down the street. 2 others in the group got their order and sat with me. I called my wife after 20 minutes and found out they had "lost" her order. The girl behind the counter was very apologetic and pushed to get a sandwich made for my wife. Once my wife met up with met up with me I was surprised at how small the sandwich was. I understand these can be expensive but for the price I thought there would be a tad larger. Especially since we had to wait for a "lost" order. It was a tasty sandwich though. The soup and salad that the others in our group had were good but not great. I wonder if we had been there when there wasn't such a big crowd whether the food would have been better.

great Old New England / family run atmosphere with great lobster roll and pastrami sandwiches- old time service- packed with locals-well worth it

WOW. A little bit of a wait because we came on Monday and it’s quite literally one of 3 places open. But it is definitely worth a wait! The lobster melt sandwich was so fresh and flavorful. The chowder of the day was clam and it was one of my favorites in the area. The pumpkin gluten free cookies were fresh out of the oven, gooey and delicious. And all of the servers were so nice!

Lovely local spot for a quick and yummy lunch. Huge menu with many unique sandwiches. Lots of interesting options for adults and classics for the kids (my five year old said it was his best grilled cheese ever)! Nice that it’s right in downtown and has such a local feel. Would love to go again.

Badly needed sandwich shop in Rockland hits the spot! Popped in here for the first time earlier this month with three other adults - great menu and service. Had the chowder and half sandwich (bbq chicken) option. Others really enjoyed their lunches - service very good - nice environment. Downtown doesn't have many places to have a casual lunch -- Clan MacLaren's a welcome additon.
