Mediocre foods. We had lobster roll and fish tacos. Roll was soaked with waterly butter, lobster was edible. Fries were like Five Guys. Fish tacos was very medium. Service was so slow.

so many restaurants in midcoast, and maine in general, serve oysters and promote their raw bars, but north beacon really revolves around it... and in my experience, it's the best one around (i live 15 mins away so have been to pretty much everywhere around). i highly recommend the oyster shooters. despite the obvious focus on seafood and the raw bar, it has a diverse menu that caters to those who aren't into seafood (whether fried, steamed, raw). the cocktails are very good and they have a nice alcohol selection all-around. i've been here multiple times and will continue to return.
i went with my SO several months ago on our anniversary, which i mentioned in passing to our waitress --- she had asked us what brought us out that night, i don't expect any special treatment --- and they very generously offered us each a nice glass of champagne and in general all of the staff we've ever engaged with were always super friendly, and actually seemed happy to be there. just a nice touch to a place that i already thought of as having very good service! i'm sure i'll be coming back here for years to come!

We spent over an hour from the time we ordered, soup! No one came to explain the delay or offer anything while we waited! We ended up leaving.

Oyster selection was wonderful but pricey. Dinner was good, wine selection on the pricey side loved the dessert. Restaurant was full and we had made a reservation... So reservation is recommended.
Walked past several times at lunchtime and it seemed busy then as well.

We had a great dining experience and although the restaurant is known for its oysters, as a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to find a solid selection of dishes. I had the chopped salad (without bacon) and the brussel sprouts - which were crisped perfectly. The rest of my party loved the fish tacos.
The service was exceptional. Kim, our waitress, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The owners also made the rounds, checking in to ensure guests were enjoying their meals—a nice personal touch that made the experience feel even more welcoming.

We loved our meal at North Beacon Oyster this weekend. We sat outside, which was perfect on a nice day, but the inside looked warm and inviting with a great atmosphere. The fish tacos were next-level good and beautifully plated. The Brussels sprouts and the “Smoke & Honey” cocktail were also delicious. We had the chance to meet the owner, and it was so nice to feel genuinely welcomed. You can tell there's real care behind everything here. If you're in the area, this place is absolutely worth a stop. Great food, great drinks, and lovely all around. We will definitely be going back soon!

We didn't have a reservation but they squeeze us in. We were blown away by the amazing food and phenomenal service! Whether you're just visiting the area or if you're a local I highly recommend North Beacon Oyster.

We’ve never had such an awful dining experience and it was terribly upsetting. The owner is RUDE and ARROGANT.
We were both looking forward to eating here and would’ve never expected such a horrid experience. We got there early but owner said he’s running on schedule so come back. So we left and walked around the area. When he said this we felt he was a bit curt. Okay, we figured he’s busy so he flustered. We returned exactly 2 minutes before our reserved time & he seated us.
Our waitress took our order promptly. She was a sweetheart but very flustered from a large table she had. My husband ordered a cup of soup and I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters. My oysters came fast, but no soup. We waited a total of 20 minutes for a basic cup of soup. My oysters were okay but the chowder tasted like dishwater. Our main course Cioppino and Fish and Chips was taking forever so we said something the our server who went to check. It was now almost a full hour and we told our waitress again….. That’s when she said that the owner was coming over. When he came over we said to him it’s an hour we’ve been here and no food. He was curt and said the food will be coming. Finally our food came and it was absolutely horrible. The fish and chips tasted like iodine and sour. The breading was flavorless and fries cold and soggy. I couldn’t eat it. My husband’s Cioppino tasted like someone poured bad tomato juice and threw pepper in it. It was awful. We informed our waitress about this and she said the owner will come and talk to you..again! He asked what was wrong with our food and we told him in detail. I also said we waited and hour…. He said “but you got your food”. That was wrong to say. I said to him bring us our check so we can leave. I said this several times to the waitress as well. He finally said dinners on him. I said I’ll pay for what we ate and he said no he’s covering the dinner and we could leave. But he was curt and horribly rude to us. We’ve never been spoken to like this before with such attitude from an owner. We were starving by now at 8:45pm. That’s 2 hours we dealt with this. Horrible place and not worth the hype. We did tip the waitress since it was not her fault.
The restaurant is extremely small and is very loud.

We stopped at North Beacon Oyster on the way to the Samoset Resort, and it was a great find. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the Citrus Margarita was excellent. The outdoor seating had a relaxed vibe, and our server was friendly and attentive. The Parmesan garlic fries with aioli were also delicious. If you’re in the area, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

Knew it was gonna be good when I walked into the bathroom and saw the small details, cleanliness, tasteful decor, and a real candle lit. Service was great, had delicious fish & chip, along with the muscles.

Rockland’s Culinary Star
North Beacon Oyster gave us the best meal of our Rockland stay — hands down. In fact, it outshined Eventide in Portland (yes, the one Condé Nast called the best oyster bar in America). We were seated right away and served the largest, freshest oysters of our two-week trip. Get the jumbos!! The food was exceptional, and the cocktails were bright, balanced, and unforgettable. A must-visit.
