I arrived at the restaurant for breakfast at 10:30. The listing said they were open until 11. They were out of 3 items on the menu, The Salmon Benedict, The Smoked Ham Benedict and the corned beef hash and eggs. I ended up ordering the standard breakfast, eggs with bacon and homefries. I ordered the eggs over medium and they came over easy. Quite easy. The homefries had a strange fishy aftertaste to them. Unfortunately, the only options for toast were white, wheat and a chive...
We mostly ate well here (one dinner, one breakfast) and enjoyed the beautiful view and historic carved wood bar. One exception was the lobster bisque which was watery and flavorless (despite having chunks of lobster in it). It seemed to consist of only skim milk, lobster and insufficient salt. I’d go back, but I definitely would not order that again.
I have been here about a dozen times. Always the most welcoming staff, elegant atmosphere and amazing libations and food! Beautiful architecture in this place! Thinking about going? DO try it.
