Huot's Seafood Restaurant Reviews
Great place! Large outdoor space with live music every night and great food!
Awesome food and awesome staff! The atmosphere o it side was so great with the live music and ocean waves. The seafood was so fresh and delicious! Can’t wait to come back!
I’ve been going to Huots for over 40 years now. There is no longer a warm, welcoming feel. There is a disconnect because you receive no waitress service for dining inside any longer. I do understand during Covid there were changes and it was great that the new owner pivoted and created a beautiful, fun, outdoor atmosphere. Huot's Seafood Restaurant offers generous portions of fresh seafood and sandwiches. Their grilled chicken sandwich is a highlight, with tender meat, fresh vegetables, and a crispy roll. While the clam cakes and scallops have received mixed reviews, the lobster rolls are a standout. Prices are considered modest for the generous portions. The restaurant's waterfront location adds to its appeal.
The restaurant has undergone some changes, with the owner pivoting to create a beautiful, fun, outdoor atmosphere during the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers can now enjoy the lively music and picnic tables out back, which are kid-friendly. Despite the changes, the restaurant's signature clam cakes and fried haddock and scallops remain excellent, with customers praising the quality and taste. However, some customers have expressed disappointment with the limited menu, noting the removal of seafood favorites like shrimp cocktail and lazy man lobster.
Customers praise the friendly staff, the delicious specials recommended by the new woman at the front, Marie, and the consistently high-quality food, especially the fried scallops and the new batter. The outdoor area is perfect for families, with live music, games, and an ice cream truck. While the food can be pricey, the portions are generous, and the prices are still reasonable compared to other summer season options. The waterfront location and the ability to walk out on the jetty at sunset add to the overall experience.
